10 Ways To Generate Your Start Up Cash For An Online Business.
I am sure you have heard it takes money to make money and that is true but when you start a business to make money online you don’t need much if you do it correctly. But having some money to invest in your online business will help you to earn faster. But where does one get the money to make a good start?
There are various options for generating start up cash and depending on the amount you need, you may not have to do a whole lot to accomplish it.
Here are just a few suggestions of ways to help generate start up cash for your business.
- Have a yard sale. – As a computer geek I have made hundreds, even thousands of dollars in a summer just getting rid of my old computer related books.
- Sell items on eBay or other auction type sites. – I started an eBay account and then went through all the boxes we never unpacked from our last two moves and made all that stuff available to others through auctions. When I did this it was to buy all new fishing equipment, but I could have used it to start an online business if I wasn’t already there.
- Research and apply for federal and local grants.
- Take out a loan.
- Borrow the money from a family member or friend with the agreement you will pay the amount back at an agreed upon rate and time frame.
- Offer to do small jobs, such as run errands for neighbors. This is the route my son took to get started. He shoveled snow during the winter and mowed lawns during the summer.
- Search online for ways to generate business start up cash.
- Talk with others you know have started their own business to get ideas.
- Cut back on unnecessary expenses. I and a good fishing buddy decided to go on a fly-in fishing trip but had no money so I suggested we stop spending money on that early morning coffee and muffin. I also quit drinking pop until after the trip. We saved not only enough for the trip but we were both able to purchase all brand new fishing equipment and gear. We looked like twins by the time we were done.
- Visit the small business administration at www.sba.gov
- Barter services or products with other business owners to get the things you need to get your business off the ground. As a web designer I have had new clients that did things for me in return for my services. I had two partners that painted the inside of our house in return for a web site and a year’s hosting.
- Find someone to partner with to help cut down expenses. I tried this with a couple of friends but found they didn’t have the same passion I have so that didn’t work out, but give it a try with eager people just like yourself.
The possibilities are endless, so do some research, talk to people and finding a way to generate start up cash for your business, might not be as hard as you think. With so many possibilities for getting your business started, money really shouldn’t be the only thing stopping you. Here’s to making your dream of owning your own business a reality!
