If you are new to the world of online marketing, you may not be familiar with the term “affiliate marketing.” It is a technique that many business use to promote their business, products, and services. An affiliate is a person who signs up to help promote the business, and the business pays the affiliate a commission for their completed work. This could be based on a sale, a visit to the business’s website or when someone fills out a registration form on the business’s website.

Affiliate marketing is a win-win situation for the both the affiliate and the business owner. The businesses owner only has to pay the affiliate upon performance. They can have a literal sales army, promoting their products, and they only have to pay the people who are earning money for them. The affiliate enjoys working with the business, as it allows them the opportunity to earn a passive income from home.

It is very easy to get started in affiliate marketing and there is not much start-up cost, either. All you need to get started is a computer and an internet connection. A high speed connection is not required, but it is recommended. Read the rest of this entry

I have been teaching web site design since the 90’s and designing web sites for clients since 2001. As a web site designer I have found that most new marketers don’t have a clue about web design. They may know what they want but not why they want it or how to create it.

If you enjoy creating websites, or you think you would enjoy web site design and you are a bit creative with an eye for design you could consider a career in web design. Web design is fun and financially rewarding.

As a web site designer I do several different types of work, including consulting with prospects and clients to determine what type of website will fit their needs, designing the web site, customizing blogs, and I even designing graphics for a few clients.

As a web designer I needed to know HTML, the language that websites are written in. When I first started in web site design I didn’t even have an HTML editor, the coding was all done by hand, but what an excellent way to learn how to manage code.

Today’s web designers don’t even have to know HTML, there are so many software choices available that allow you to just point and click making web design quick and easy.

The Importance of One Way Links In Internet Marketing.

Don’t overlook the importance of one way links. I really prefer one way links to my websites.

It is not very often you get the opportunity to get a link from a high PR (pagerank) site without giving a link back, sometimes even more than one link back depending on the value of that link. This is reciprocal linking and it doesn’t have the value of a one way link, not even close.

You can pay for one way links back to your pages and I have done this and still do this for some of my sites. It is well worth the money if your goal is to increase your website PR. The power one way links can have make them very valuable.

Of course most of us know about two way or reciprocal linking and it gets tough to get really good and relevant links.

I write articles and get them published on the free article directories and this gives me one way links back to my pages. The downside to this method is it’s slow to work plus you need to put the time into creating unique articles that are very focused on your keywords for the page you point to. If you don’t spend the time making the articles unique and relevant to your web page you are wasting your time and time is money. You may as well cough up the money and just pay for links back to your pages.

What if you could have one way links back without the need for writing keyworded articles or paying for links?

Well my new friend, I have some good news for you. I have found a way to get one way links that rocks and cost me nothing more than the time it takes to set them up. Check out this FREE one way links site and you will see exactly what I mean.

I have paid as high as $100 a month for a one way link from a PR6 site, but that one way link has been worth gold to me and that’s what is important. When that link back to my sites pays off in a higher PR I get more traffic and because my sites are focused I also earn more money. More money that I pay for one way links and that has to be the goal right.

Well now you can have FREE one way links to your web pages that will help you grow your own PR and earn more money. So please don’t dismiss the importance of one way links. The time you spend getting those links is well worth your effort and as long as you keep relevant you will benefit.

Carry a notepad and paper to collect your ideasMy motto is to be like a boy scout and be prepared at all times.

Online marketing is a lot of fun but new topics for my blogs don’t always just pop into my mind, how about you? If I were blogging for the sake of talking I wouldn’t have a problem but when blogging for profit you don’t want to give your readers a reason to just leave your site.

Some people just pop idea after idea out of their grey matter but I am not one of those people. I have a friend and client that never seems to be at a loss for great ideas which is great for me because he stirs my mind into coming up with new ideas for my blog posts.

I have been a teacher for the past 20 years or so and in that time I have learned I am not the only one that comes up blank every so ofter but I have a way to have an endless supply of great topics to talk about.

I was reading a post this morning from ‘At The Bottom Looking Up‘ that reminded me of how much I used to try and impress upon my students to carry a notepad and pencil with them everywhere.

I spend a fair amount of time each day just reading other people’s blogs and web sites keeping up on the latest and greatest. In the process I come across a huge amount of information that is not just worth reading it is also worth sharing with you, so here are a few sites I visited this sun shiny Sunday.

What is that makes a web site or blog worth reading in the first place?

Well personally I like to read sites that are easy to read and navigate otherwise I just end up leaving and yes I could be missing out on some great content but that’s life. Before I go on I should let you know that I constantly tweak my blogs to make them better in any way I can. I do tend to never be totally satisfied with my own creations, so if you have any comments that would improve my blog, please leave a comment.

Here is a link to content that will explain what you should be thinking about when you create a blog: Read the rest of this entry

Picking The Right Niche When You Create A Blog!

The topic you choose to discuss on your blog can make the difference between income and wasting your time. The type or themes of your blogs are limited only by your imagination and by your willingness to do the research. For instance, while some bloggers focus on very general topics, such as cars, other bloggers narrow the scope of their blogs even further to sub-topics, such as luxury cars or antique cars.

From an optimization standpoint, a blog with a narrower focus would likely outperform a blog with a broad focus in terms of conversions or clicks-per-visitor. So, if your goal is to make money online, the types of blogs you can build are somewhat limited.

In terms of actual topics for the types of blogs you can build, there are about 10 major areas that are popular for current blogs: business, culture, community, home & graden, politics, religion, science, travel, online diaries, and gossip. Most blog directories use similar topical categories to order blogs. Read the rest of this entry

Blogger EqualizerBlogging Equalizer, It’s About Time!? The solution to getting your blog pages in the major search engines faster.

Reviewed by: James Mann – Webmann Marketing

The goal of blogging for profit means getting your articles and blog content into the major search engines quickly and that can be a real challenge if you don’t know all the tricks and tips.

I am not shy when it comes to working for money but if you try every solution and you have multiple web sites you cuold drive yourself a little batty trying to maintain momentum. The hours in the day just seem to disappear when you over work yourself.

That is why the “Blog and Ping” technique is high on my priority list. The “Blog and Ping” process really only takes these 4 steps:

1. Build a search engine “spider trap” by creating a free blog on Blogger.com (they can’t resist freshly updated content). Do this if you don’t have the money yet for your own domain to install my favorite blogging software, Wordpress.

2. Grab a free account at MyYahoo.com.

3. Post links to the web pages you want spidered inside your blog.

4. Then, just call the search engine spiders to dinner by sending (or “pinging”), with the click of a button, the blog to your MyYahoo account.

All of this takes around 15 minutes or less to get any page you want into the search engines. Best of all, you didn’t have to spend hours writing anything. Read the rest of this entry

Having your own blog is great but there is a lot of competition online and knowing ways to improve you chance to make money online will put you ahead of most marketers. 3. Darren’s Related Posts plugin

The plugin fetches articles based on keyword overlaps, and displays them as an unordered list. Posts with more keyword matches to the current post are displayed first (i.e., they are more relevant).
