You just found out that one of the affiliate programs you promote across your entire blog has disappeared and now you have to not only find but replace all the affiliate links for that program. It used to be a pain in the butt for me but not any longer.

Time is money and the more time it takes you to find those affiliate links that more money you are losing. Learning the smart way to have affiliate program links throughout your website will save you time. Time you could be putting to good use making more money online.

What do I use: Wordpress Affiliate Pro

Just this morning I replaced a couple of affiliate links site wide in just about 3 minutes and I also added 4 more affiliate links, based on keywords, throughout one of my blogs and that only took a few minutes and I was done.

What is my secret to being so fast and efficient, well it’s not me personally that speeded up. It was my new Wordpress Affiliate Pro plugin that gives me back some of my blogging time and always remember time is money and your time is worth more than you might think.

Do You Have Super Affiliates?

In researching affiliate marketing, you have probably come across the term “super affiliate.” Many affiliate managers spend a lot of time trying to recruit super affiliates and for good reason. A super affiliate can turn just about any affiliate program into a success.

Super Affiliate Make The Sales That Make Them Super

A super affiliate, simply put, is someone who can generate a lot of sales. Some people feel that an affiliate needs to make a certain dollar amount in sales before they are considered “super.” It is hard to define this term in dollar amounts as different programs have different amounts as well as different types of programs. Not only that, but program owners have different definitions of success in their particular affiliate program compared to others.

Finding super affiliates is easier than most think

In fact, you may already know of several yourself. Super affiliates tend to have large sites, large newsletter lists, and a nice amount of influence over their target markets. It doesn’t take much thinking to know at least one affiliate who fits these definitions.

If however, it comes a bit more difficult in a particular market, it’s easy to find a few of them. Simply research a bit. Google can really help with this; just type in keyword or phrase that relates to the product or target market in question. For example, if you are selling an information product on natural remedies, type in such phrases as “natural remedies, “natural cures,” and “homeopathic medicine.”

Take note of the websites that are coming up in your search results. If the same site is coming up over and over, it is probably very popular. Even if different sites are coming up, click on them, and take a look around. Look for signs of affiliate activity, such as ads, reviews, and affiliate links.

Once you have located some affiliates that seem a good fit for your particular program it is time to start the recruiting process. Take note that these people are receiving offers from many other affiliate managers. If you want them to promote your product, you’ll need to make it worth their time.

Offer Super Products To Attract Super Affiliates

First of all, make sure your product is something that their target market would honestly want or need. When you make your initial contact with the affiliate, make it personable. Instead of sending a standard form letter, take the time to send a personalized note. Try to keep that first email short and sweet, though, as the affiliate doesn’t have time to read anything super long.

When promoting a digital product, send a sample along with the introductory email. The affiliate will want to try it out before they promote it to their readers. If you have a physical product, offer to send a sample in the mail. This will help to determine if the product is a good fit for their visitors.

Entice the super affiliate by offering them something more than standard affiliates receive, such as extra commission or cash bonuses. For example, if you normally pay 50% commissions, offer 60% or 70% to the super affiliate. The amount of sales they can bring you will more than make up for any extra commissions you give them. Another option is to offer them a second tier percentage, where they receive a commission for referring other affiliates to the program.

It can take time to build up a relationship with a super affiliate and get them involved in a program. It may take time to find them, but keep trying. Eventually you will recruit a super affiliate and maybe more!

Following webhosting reviews is usually fructiferous. This is because not every host is suitable to provide shared web hosting. One should know the tactics to domain name registration suited to whatever mode of affiliate marketing he is going to follow. An affiliate member program needs certain prerequisites. Knowing how to buy web domain is one of those requisites.

Why Reviews Are a Great Affiliate Tool

As an affiliate manager, there are many different choices when it comes to giving affiliates items for promoting your products and services.  In the past, you may have posted graphic or text ads on your website or blog for affiliates to use; or perhaps even crafted an email ad for affiliates to send to their mailing list.  Those are great ways to drive traffic.  Another way is with product reviews.

Writing product reviews works great for affiliate sales for many reasons. First of all, website visitors on a regular basis trust the affiliate’s opinions and advice.  Those reading the reviews have come to know, trust and see the affiliate as an expert in their field, therefore, when they are recommended a product or service from them, they tend to listen.

Secondly, reviews add a personal touch to a website.  Most reviews will list the reviewers’ name as well as the location they live in.  Your reader will think “Wow, this is a real person, just like me.  They used this product and these are the results they got.” This makes the reader more open to trying the product.

When you a standard ad is placed in front of readers, they may be a bit skeptical.  They know that the company wrote the ad, so of course the company will say great things about the product.  When they see a great review coming from a real person, the reader takes that as a solid recommendation.

When writing a review, the first part, also known as the preamble, should contain the name and location of the reviewer, the name of the product, the price of the product, and a location to buy the product.  That is where you can include your affiliate link.

The next section should contain the product description.  Let the reader know what the product consists of, such as an ebook, a special report, a piece of software, a membership site, etc. Don’t forget to include details of how the product will be delivered, as some products can be downloaded directly and some are shipped in the mail.  Also take the time to list some features and benefits of the product.

Once that portion is complete, it’s time to write about the product’s performance.  How did the product hold up to the company’s claims?  Did it perform to expectations or were you dissatisfied?  End your review with a brief summary, letting the reader know in a couple sentences if the product was worth the money, and would be one they would to a friend.

When writing reviews, it is important to keep things very honest.  If a product performed wonderfully, let the reader know.  If you were dissatisfied on a few features, let them know.  Sometimes, a reader will decide to try the product anyway.

Reviews definitely add a lot to affiliate promotions and they can boost your affiliate sales as well.  If you don’t have time to write them yourself, you can find some through private label rights packages, or you can ask your readers to send in some of their own.

Don’t forget to send a few of your super affiliates the product for a review as well.  If you plan to make it available to other affiliates, make that known up front too.

Ooops I Made An Affiliate Sale

Sometimes I don’t know when to quit. I am an early riser but I am also an early to bed guy. When I go brain dead at the end of the day I usually don’t continue working on my blogs because I have done some pretty lame things when half asleep.

As an internet marketer and blogger I am always looking for better ways to make money online by improving website traffic and keeping my readers reading longer.
Well a few days ago I was reading one of the blogs I follow daily and saw that they had a new wordpress template and it looked a whole lot more professional that the current template I was using on one of my gardening blogs. I had to have it so I could modify it and use it myself.

Normally I don’t work once my brain shuts down for the day but I was eager to try this new template so I stayed up until I had the upgrade complete. The new template looked great but for some reason my adblocks and inline text links didn’t show up but I was just too tired and thought I would take care of the problems in the morning.

I went to bed thinking I should have stayed up and fixed the problem but I quickly dozed off and woke to my first every affiliate sale on that blog. Why was that??

Uglification and Clutter of a Blog or Website Can Be Affiliate Sales Killers.

I use Google Adsense alternatives like Bidvertiser.com and FindIt-Quick.com, I also use inline ads from Kontera.com as well to display ads 24/7. While this method of advertising does make me money I feel it UGLIFIES and CLUTTERS my blogs.

When I arrive at blogs that are as UGLIFIED and CLUTTERED as mine I usually don’t stay around long.

I am going to remove the adblocks and inline ads from a few of the other hobby blogs I have that don’t make any affiliate sales to see if this changes for them as it did on my garden site. Stay tuned…

Online Business Idea: Business Coaching

The subject of “business coaching” has had a massive growth in popularity during the last few years.   Not long ago, business coaches were a secret weapon, reserved for executives of large corporations.  Today, more and more people are taking advantage of what these coaches offer.  If you have ever thought about a career as a business coach, this is a great time to get started.

When you hear the word “coach,” you may think of a sports coach, pushing a team to success.  A business coach may not wear a whistle around their neck or ask their clients to run around the track, but they do work with their clients to improve their weaknesses, capitalize on their strengths and find success.

As a business coach, you will have a lot of flexibility in the manner you choose to run your business.  You may work with clients one-on-one or in a group setting.  You can choose to coach your clients in person, via the telephone, email, through a web conference room or even through an online message board.  The start-up costs for these various methods are all relatively low and do not require much technical experience.

To become a business coach, you do not need a special license or degree.  If you choose, you can search online for courses that offer accreditation or certificates.

The hardest part may be deciding what subject to coach your clients on.  It may be helpful to take out a pen and paper and write down topics you have knowledge in, that people may want coaching on.

One option would be to focus on an industry such as internet marketing or direct sales. This type of coaching program could be tailored to beginners or advanced students.  Each weekly section could focus on a new topic within the industry, such as how to increase your click throughs or how to find recruits.  Another choice would be to focus on an activity that people in every industry could use, such as advertising techniques.

If you have an existing business, you also have the option of tying that business into a coaching program.  This works great for service providers.  It gives you an additional stream of income, and helps you find potential clients, too.  For example, a web designer could create a coaching program on how to increase your site’s activity by tweaking its design.  On the other hand, a virtual assistant could create a coaching program on becoming more organized and efficient within your business.

Whether you choose to dive into business coaching full-time or use it to supplement your current income, creating a business coaching program is a great business idea.

Quick Tips: Using Squidoo Lenses

Here are a few quick tips for using Squidoo lenses.

  • don’t build a lens instead of your website. Build a lens to help your website.
  • build more than one lens, some lensmasters have hundreds of lenses
  • you can choose to send earnings to charity as well all while sending traffic to your website
  • you can include relevant items from Amazon, eBay and literally thousands of other sources
  • highlight websites about your topic
  • teach people about your concepts and products
  • get feedback through polls and interactive features about peoples interests in regard to your topic
  • establish your identity and internet reputation
  • position yourself as an expert on your topic
  • build a list of interested, targeted people
  • dividing your content into one or more lenses can sometimes be more beneficial than having just one lens and attract different targets to your websites

Your Squidoo lenses can start out small, focusing on you main keyword phrase and over time add a little more and your lenses will continue to get more website traffic.

Extra Extra Read All About It… Well okay it’s a video so view all about it. I just watched a great little video that showed me how to add more affiliate links to my Squidoo pages more effectively. I found the video on ProInvestorsBlog and it’s well worth checking out.

There is a lot involved in starting an affiliate program.  There is software to choose, there are program terms to set and there are commission rates to be determined.  Once you’re done with all of that you have to get affiliates to sign up.

When recruiting affiliates eager to make money online, you may feel the need to make sure they are well informed.  Making sure that your affiliates know program terms and promotion options is a good thing.  Throwing too much at them too fast runs the risk of overwhelming them.

What Do Affiliates Need to Know?

When an affiliate signs up they need to agree to the terms of the program.  These should be laid out clearly.  Many affiliates won’t take the time to read them in full or print them when signing up, so make them easily accessible to the affiliate for future reference.

Once the affiliate has successfully joined the program they will need access to their promotional methods of choice.  Dividing graphics, text link, and other promotion options into easy to understand sections will make finding what your affiliate is looking for a snap.  They won’t have to wade through a lot of information that they have no intention of using to get to what they will use.

It’s also a good idea to put information about any sales or promotions that are going on in a conspicuous place for affiliates.  Many affiliates like to promote special offers or discounts and making them easy to find will ensure that affiliates can access them quickly.

What Do Affiliates Not Need to Know?

Affiliates will want to know how much they have earned in commissions and certain aspects of their conversion statistics.  Few are interested in an extremely detailed analysis of their performance.  A summary page that shows commissions due and some of the most basic conversion ratios will satisfy the needs of most affiliates most of the time.  More in-depth statistics can be included in reports but there is no need to put them all on the first page an affiliate sees when she logs into her account.

Affiliate newsletters are a great way to keep affiliates informed.  Cramming too much information into them can turn affiliates off to the point that they may not even bother reading them.  Information about new features, current promotions and different ways to promote will keep affiliates informed and motivated.  Long-winded State of the Company addresses might put them to sleep.

Affiliates need access to the information they desire.  Overwhelming them can hinder them from promoting your products.  Keeping them updated with changes and providing easy access to other information so that they can find it as needed keeps them informed without giving them information overload.
