This morning I was browsing the rss feeds I have subscribed to and found a site that had ad blocks for sale on their blog. The only thing is that I didn’t see the ad blocks available until I scrolled below the fold.

How many visitor never actually scroll down? I go to many sites where I can see all I need to see without scrolling down, so I would never see those ads.

I personally tend to put ad blocks above the fold for those paying me for the ads. Other ad blocks are reserved for various affiliate programs I belong to.

Another thing I notice was that they had about 5 ad blocks available. I think this is a waste of space, not to mention that viewers might think it’s not worth their time if so many ad blocks aren’t taken.

I like to keep one ad block available. When it sells I then remove an affiliate block and put up another Ad Block for Sale Here image. People get more of a sense of urgency when they see just one ad block. When they see 5 or 6 they feel then can check it out later, but never do.
