4 Hobbies That Make Money For Me

When I create a blog and start blogging it’s because I blog for profit so I like to keep tight lipped about where I make my money online.

So, there was a time not too long ago where I wouldn’t dream of sharing the hobbies I make money with online but the fact that I make my money focusing my hobbies locally I don’t mind sharing so much.

What I have found about sharing my hobbies, that works great for me, is to key in on your local area, far less competition that way. Keep that in mind while you think about making money with your hobbies.

1. Turning Your Fishing Hobby into Money

I not only have a passion for fly fishing where I live I have many years of experiences I share with my readers. This hobby has not only allowed me to share and earn but I have also made new friends.

Just this past summer I was contacted by a guy locally, less than 5 miles from my home asking about one of the bass fishing locations I shared about. That contact ended with me having a new fishing buddy.

I can be found on the first page of Google for numerous searches around the phrase fly fishing and our province.

Example: fly fishing in new brunswick

2. Backyard Hobby Gardener Earns Blogging

MY wife and I bought a little spot here in the heart of our city. We even purchased the lot next door so we could start a garden.

I started thinking that if I could make money from my fishing hobby why not start a blog on backyard gardening in our city. So I started a local blog and began sharing our experiences as newbie gardeners.

I had used an existing make money online domain I had purchased a couple years early that didn’t earn me anything.

The blog started earning a little and then more so I thought I would start a second blog on gardening and buy a keyworded domain.

That new domain wasn’t started until a year after my first gardening blog but in less than six months it caught up to my first garden blog.

Now I try to buy keyworded domains for my hobbies. I find it hard to get ones without hyphens but I don’t mind using hyphens. Heck I even have 3 domains now that have double hyphens in the name.

3. Baby Boomer Travel

We are baby boomers and grew up with travel so as we grew up and got married we still wanted to travel.

To this point we have only ever traveled with our son so most places were places with lots of great and thrilling rides. You know the ones that make you toss your cookies.

We are very close to retirement, we have even bought the laptop so we can blog while traveling. I decided to start a hobby travel blog.

I wasn’t sure what to put on the blog as I only had a few posts about our travels to get started with. So, what did I do?

I started using private label rights articles that I get for free and now this particular blog makes more than any other blog I have to this point. And we haven’t really started traveling yet.

Our travel blog isn’t focused locally like our other blogs but we get requests for placing ads on our site and the money just keeps growing. So of course I had to start a second travel site to see if I could duplicate the same results.

4. Horseback Riding

I don’t have a lot of experience in the hobby of horseback riding but I wish that I did. I would love to take a horseback ride to a remote fishing spot with friends to enjoy the scenery and the experience.

I live in the heart of our city and I don’t even have a horse but that’s where private label rights content and eager guest posters come in handy.

I haven’t made any money from this site on any of the banners or ads. I make money on my horseback riding blog from those who desire to pay me to put links on my blog.

My next hobby to try and earn from is Playing My Acoustic Guitar.

How To Incorporate Adsense Into Your Affiliate Marketing

A lot of people are lured by affiliate marketing because it can be financially rewarding, even if you just stay at home. Affiliate marketing programs are best alternatives to those who are sick and tired of their arduous daily work just to climb up the venerated corporate ladder. You don’t need products to sell, you just have to market them in your own web site and you don’t have to worry about processing the customers’ payments and the shipment of the products. If you are already into affiliate marketing, probably you were thinking about these benefits, too, before deciding to join an affiliate program.

Of course you want earn huge amount of commission. Who would not want it anyway? Keep in mind, however, that affiliate marketing cannot guarantee you instant success if you don’t work on it. There are a lot of ways of maximizing your income. The Internet is a huge library of information, use it to learn of other opportunities and ways to increase your income. You can partner with several merchandisers and promote different products in your website; thereby, increasing your chance to earn a commission.

The easiest way for you to rev up your revenue potential is by incorporating Google AdSense into your marketing campaigns. What is Google AdSense? What are its advantages? How can it boost my revenues? These are some of the questions you might want to ask. Let’s try to probe into Google AdSense, so you would know how it could help you in your affiliate marketing program.

Merchants place their ads in Google, which is one of the most popular search engines or tools for locating various resources in the World Wide Web. Now the Google AdSense program allows you to display these ads in you website and when your visitors click through them, you earn. The advertiser, which is the merchant pays Google for every click-through made by the customer and you as a partner of Google, gets a share from that payment.

What’s great about the Google AdSense is that the ads are relevant to the content of your web page. Most likely, visitors of your web site are interested on the theme of your site and specifically, on the content of your web page. So, seeing ads related to their interest would definitely drive them to click through the link or the ad. Using state-of-the-art technology, Google scans your web site and matches the content of your pages to their large database of advertisers; this way, Google is able to find ads that are targeted by the users of your site. In addition, Google changes the ads in your site as you change the content of your pages, so you can always expect the ads to be relevant to your site.

If you would observe the company that delivers the daily paper to your doorstep for a business case study, you will come to learn that the newspaper publisher hires reporters, writers and other important staff to create the contents and deliver the papers to their readers.
In addition to the above mention, the publisher has to invest regularly in heavy duty machineries and tons of papers in printing tons of newspapers on a daily basis.
And in order to ensure that the newspapers are delivered on time, the publisher appoints agents at every part of the covered territory.
So, how does the newspaper company make money? It is obvious that selling a copy of the papers at less than a dollar would not even be able to even fund the operations.

The answer? Selling advertising spaces! You have definitely seen lots of advertisements in the newspaper. The publisher simply sells advertising space in the papers to advertisers who want to leverage their advertising efforts on the paper’s high readership.
On the same analogy, you can make money the exact way from your newsletter: simply by selling advertising space to prospective advertisers!
If your mailing list size exceeds 1,000 (5,000 is recommended) subscribers and beyond, you can start selling advertising space for say, $10.00 per sponsor ad.

In this manner, you turn every issue you send out to your subscribers into a profit-pulling device. And since there is virtually no end to the stream of advertisers as products, services and businesses are cropping every single day in every industry imaginable, so are your money making opportunities. Aside from pre-selling your products and affiliated offers, the other purpose of your free viral report should be to build your mailing list of your chosen niche
stress management tips.

This is because if you are unable to pre-sell, let alone sell, the products and services featured in your free report, the last ditch effort should be to collect leads. In short, if you cannot convert the reader into a ready buyer, you should then attempt to convert him or her into your subscriber.
In that manner, you can still follow up with your reader on future offers and have a chance at converting him or her into your customer, preferably lifetime.
You can do so by offering a lifetime update to your report or a unique notification list your reader will be interested in subscribing to, which leads to having him or her subscribed to your mailing list.
One of the few success factors in viral marketing of your free report is quality. If your readers find your information worth sharing, and you encourage them to do so by giving them the right to give your report away for free, you will be able to have your name, status and links within the report passed around without any effort on your part – simply because others are willing to do so for you!

Yes, Your Hobbies Can Help You Make Money Online

For the longest time I didn’t even try to make money online through my hobbies because I listened to so called gurus who either didn’t know what they were talking about or they perhaps were steering people clear to keep the gold for themselves. What ever the reason they didn’t exactly tell the truth.

Eventually I started paying attention to what I thought would work and started blogging about the hobbies I love but never find the time to enjoy like I would like.

I started with my biggest passion, which is fishing, I created a blog and just started blogging about my experiences. Without even working for, like I had to do with my other niches, I started getting readers, more every day.

The thing that really made me sit up and take notices was the ease I could write with but that just makes sense. Go to a guitar jam with me and watch faces light up when you start talking about anyone’s hobbies. They, like myself, can’t shut up about them.

After a few months of blogging I started putting a bit of advertising on the blog and started to earn a bit immediately. Remember I said, after a few months!

The reason I didn’t put advertising on my fishing blog was because I wanted to get as many of my pages into Google’s index before monetizing. My past experience has shown me that sites that have too much advertising and not enough content, good content, will not get as much or as deep indexing, so I wait until I am getting about 200 unique visitors.

After seeing that it was a lot easier for me to earn money blogging about my hobbies, due to my knowledge of course and experience, I started other blogs, even multiple blogs on the same hobby, and built them for a few months before monetizing.

Now my wife is interested in starting her own blog but she wants me to do it all, typical. :) Okay I was just kidding there, she will do it herself and probably show me up.

My advice for you is to create a blog based on a passion, a hobby or an interest you spend money on. If it’s a hobby or interest that no one spends money on you are going to have a tough time earning so be sure it’s something you know people spend on.
