When you are involved in an internet marketing business, it is necessary to learn how to build a squeeze page and get enough traffic for your site. Most website owners are having a difficulty gaining and maintaining their traffic, and if you’re one of them, it’s time to pay attention to the tips below, find out which one works best for you, and start earning megabucks from your increased traffic.

One way to increase traffic for your internet marketing business is writing a rich and relevant content. Article marketing is especially very popular nowadays to get more traffic. Keyword research needs to be done initially, then articles are written which are optimized for the keywords and search engine optimization performed. The search engines of Google and Yahoo are often used by those who browse the internet and when they search using the keywords that you use, there is a big chance for your website to among the listed sites in the search engine results page, and may be clicked on by those interested in your products. Keep in mind to use only the right keywords and to continuously write articles for your keywords.

The Do’s and Don’ts When Writing Articles

When writing keyword-rich articles, remember not to overdo it. Most internet marketing business owners often make the mistake of writing the keywords in almost every line of every sentence of their article in the hopes of getting a higher page rank from search engines. Search engines actually put a limit on the number of keywords that they allow for every article and if you overdo it, you may be punished and deleted from the rankings.

What is there to do then? Meta tags are very powerful and must be utilized properly by using your keywords and writing a description based on your keywords. There are several webbots that use the first 200 characters of your page’s body as a description. The description is the “teaser” of your page which can be seen in search engine results page, and more often this determines if the one doing the search may want to visit your site or not. Meta tags can also be used to list down the keywords in your page, and so that your site will be found more easily.

Other Options to Increase Traffic

Some people will submit all their sites to search engines but I don’t do this. To me this just seems like patting your own back and search engine prefer when others are patting your back and telling the search engines you are around by linking to your site from their sites.

Some think that they can increase their traffic by submitting their URLs to search engines directly when they would be better off spending their time writing content for the article directories.

Blogs are a good source of link if you leave your URL in your comments or have it in your signatures in forums or discussion groups. If readers find your comment interesting, then he could link to your site and increase traffic.

Use your charm to convince people on the same niche to link their site to you. This is a way of sharing with the traffic that their site gets. Let’s say for example your internet marketing business deals on beach resorts, you may collaborate with travel companies to have them place a link for you. In return, you can also put links in your site that leads to the complementary site that you choose. Links convert to traffic and clicks for your site, which can contribute to your rank in the search engines.

Do affiliate marketing. This is the best way to get free links and ads for your site that is free of charge and at no risk at all. Promoting your site by spreading it through word of mouth to your friends and their circle of friends is also effective. Have your URL placed in your business cards and letter heads.

Viral Marketing Video

So just what is a Viral Marketing Definition?

It’s really just a method to get your information out to a boatload of prospects by using the power of other people e.g. word of mouth. In other words the idea is to get your message out much like a computer virus would spread.

Infection in this case though can be a fantastic thing; in this context it’s people becoming aware of your stuff and your campaign.

Now the actual message can be in many formats, say an email, or a video, even a podcast, a document.  The idea is to get internet users who already have your information to spread it to people they know, multiplying your message spreading exponentially.

First, let me make it perfectly clear that I am not talking about spamming millions of people.

Apart from the legalities of doing this, spamming is just dumb, because it’s not wanted, and even if is seen it’s clear that going to spread is it? After all if it makes it past the spam folders and actually makes it into someone’s Inbox, it’s just going to get erased when and if it is looked at.

Here we go with what seems the topical phrase of many articles relevant useful content is the key.  Giving value to potential future customers is absolutely vital.

So how do we get visitors to do your grubby work for you?  How do you convince them to do that? Spread your viral information that is.

First things first, it really needs to be something relevant and useful.

In other words it has to have perceived value.  The person who has got your message has to really believe it will give value to someone else otherwise they won’t spread it to anyone else.

One thing I have found in this industry is almighty power of partnerships. It’s a lot easier to get your message out to the masses if you have friends in the industry with large mailing lists of their own.

Let’s say you have released a new Podcast. You currently have a mailing list of 2000 people who have expressed an interest or actually purchased something from you in the past.

Your info product would be of course in a related niche so you feel sure you can generate some interest in it from your list so that is the first place to attack.

You may well find that some of your customers will send the link to your sales page to their friends if they think it’s valuable.

Ahhh the power of word of mouth advertising, I tell you there is no more powerful force in marketing then getting your customers telling their colleagues how cool, hip and fantastic you and your products are?  This is a real viral marketing example on steroids.

If you can get customers telling their co-workers about your product and then once they invest in it and then tell their friends can you can see that it will take very little time at all to have a huge response to your offer.

You’ll be needing to buy new servers for your website because the old one has melted with overwhelming web traffic you have received.

Take the time to learn more about viral advertising.  I believe you will greatly benefit from using these techniques in your internet marketing.

If you want to make sure that money continuous to endlessly flow into your virtual cash register, do not stop to following interested buyers, even if you have to literally chase them in the internet. If you have a perfectly done squeeze page for your goods and services, you will get what you want. Explained simply, a squeeze page is where you can gather e-mail addresses that can add to your opt in list. This not only makes your opt in list longer, it makes it a list that is more reactive to your sales as only interested people are added as your subscribers.  It’s actually really easy to create free squeeze pages too.

Now let us presume you already have the most efficient squeeze page on your website. All those who visit your squeeze page do not have second thoughts of leaving their email address every time. Now what? You need to have an effective squeeze page manager. The next step is what your squeeze page manager does for you. Imagine having to email all the people who opt in your site manually. What if you were able to get subscribers of like 100 people in a week? Would you be able to devote your time in writing personalized emails and checking those sales letters while you still have your own day time job to attend to? Thanks to technology, various programs can now act as your squeeze page manager for a fee of $20-$50. It is just a small amount considering it will take care of the 70% of your possible source of income. The software can also be used on various products that you may want to market!

If you purchase a squeeze page manager, you will be able to use the entire package that comes with it. It usually contains the following:

- Squeeze page creator

- Editor for squeeze page

- Squeeze page designs and templates

- Opt in list manager

- Guide the subscribers to the personalized sales letter

- Sends follow up emails or details of other related products

For non-programmers, there is no need to worry because the program is user-friendly and very easy to operate.

These are the main service that a squeeze page manager can offer. And remember the squeeze page manager may be re-used. If you are running 5 different internet marketing sites that have varied products, you can use the same software to help you in managing the list for each site.

Another good thing about squeeze page manager software is that they usually have a money back guarantee so if the squeeze page manager you bought does not work for you or you find it not very user friendly, then you can request for a refund and start looking for a manager that can suit you more.

So what else are you waiting for? Do not let this opportunity pass you and get your own squeeze page manager to assist your internet marketing business.

Your Affiliate Link Is Showing

Anatomy of a Great Affiliate Program Session a...

It’s so sad to know that so many people know about affiliate links and when they see them they tend to turn away or some even hijack the link, changing it to suite their greedy needs.

Because of this I have had to figure out how to keep my affiliate links disguised long enough for the visitor to click it and land on the web page I was directing them to. Once they are there it usually means a cookie has been set on their computer so that I should get credit for the sale, if they purchase of course.

How To Protect Your Affiliate Link

After a year or more of not realizing what was happening to my income I read about why people turn away from affiliate likes and why others switch the affiliate link around so that they can purchase for less without giving any to me at all.

Now I use ShrinkURL.com to create a new shorter affiliate link that protects my link.

I also have Wp Affiliate Pro, a plugin for my Wordpress blogs. I can specify what keywords I want to link to in my blog and I can even give it anchor text that says what I want instead of showing a linked address.

If you look at my affiliate link in the WP Affiliate Pro link above you will see that I used ShrinkURL.com to change my affiliate link into just another link. Now it’s protected.

Another way to protect your affiliate links is using a PHP re-direct. I am not a programmer so this is a little beyond me at this point but those that use it seem to like how it works.

So if you are new to affiliate marketing I would suggest you protect your links and watch your sales go up like I did.

Top 3 Ways to Send Traffic to Your Blog

Amit Varma (extreme right) at the Mumbai Blogg...
Image via Wikipedia

Few things are as important to blogging as site traffic is.  When you intend to make money blogging, the success of your site is going to be reliant on the number of people who manage to make it to your site, stay there, and return to become loyal readers.  Fortunately, driving traffic to your blog doesn’t always have to be a herculean task.  Here are a few tips we’ve collected for you so you can boost your site stats and encourage people to come to your site:

1.  Get out there and socialize!

One good way to increase traffic to your blog is by going to other blogs and leaving a footprint wherever you go.  The principle behind this is that people will frequently check out where their blog visitors are coming from, and your blog will be no exception.  Leave relevant, intelligent comments on another blogger’s post, making sure that you attach your name and a link back to your blog at the end of your comment.

Another tactic to consider is that of linking to other blogs.  A word of caution, however:  linking to other blogs doesn’t always guarantee getting a link back, but you can at least count on a fair number of blogs who will return the favor.  Just be sure to pick blogs that are at least related to the niche you’re already specializing in.  If you’re going to link to a blog that isn’t in the same niche as yours, at least make it a site that you genuinely enjoy!

You can also pay a visit to forum boards that talk about the very same topic that your blog deals with.  Be an active member, post helpful information, and most importantly, leave a link to your blog that other forum members can click through if they want to get more of your unique advice.

2.  Fan out your work to article directories:

A good way to get more traffic is by submitting your work to article directories.  Show your expertise and credibility by writing about topics in your chosen niche, and submit them to places like eZine Articles and Buzzle.  Be careful about your word count,  though, as there is a minimum number that’s required for every submission, and check if your topic isn’t in conflict with the services’ policies.  Your article will contain a link back to your site at the end of it, which readers can click to if they want to find you.

3.   Write better posts

The best thing you can actually do to attract more traffic to your site is to create better, high-quality posts for your readers.  Remember, the reason why your visitors are in your blog is because they think that you might have something interesting to offer to them, or that you might be able to share something about your niche that other bloggers can’t.  If they like what they see in your blog, they’re going to come back again and again – without your having to resort to other gimmicks.

While there’s no real formula on how to attract more traffic and make money blogging, what you can do to give your blog an advantage is to fill it with quality posts that will demonstrate your expertise in your chosen niche.  As long as you make each visit worth their time, they’re going to come back and spread the word about your blog, bringing you the traffic your site deserves.

Is Your Blog Not Making Money?

Making Money by Photos8.com

Becoming a full-fledged professional bloggeris a tricky endeavor, one that cannot promise uniform rewards for everyone.  In the case of some bloggers, the rate of their profit could resemble a smooth upward incline, describing a steady progression towards bigger and bigger earnings.  Other bloggers, however, make money blogging at a slower pace, and are at a loss about how they can improve their earnings.

If you’re part of the latter group and would like to know what you might be doing wrong, then this article is for you.  Below is a list of the most common reasons why your blog isn’t performing, despite your best efforts:

1.  You’re asking for money too soon in the game:

It’s already your third month blogging, and you’ve followed every smart piece of advice on blogging out there, but nothing seems to be happening yet.  Is anything wrong?  Well, nothing is, but you’re looking for profit way too early in the game.  While some bloggers are lucky enough to earn money within their first three months, most bloggers often have to make do with little or no revenue for the first six months – or even for the first year!  Just exercise some patience and focus your efforts on making your blog stronger and more credible, instead of agonizing about when your first paycheck will finally come.

2.  You’ve come to rely too much on advertising:

Everyone knows that advertising campaigns make the blogging world go ’round, but just because they’re a decisive factor in the size of your revenue doesn’t mean that you should make them the major player in your strategy.  Remember, your readers aren’t visiting your blog to admire the Google Adsense layout you chose.  Instead, they’re there to find valuable information and interesting insights about your chosen niche, preferably the kind of content that they won’t find anywhere else.  Keep the ads spare, but keep the quality of your posts high.

3.  You don’t post enough entries:

Regular and frequent updating is crucial in making your blog retain a high place in search engine rankings.  If you think you’re doing a good job by updating around three or four times a week, you’re in for quite a surprise.  If you’re just new to the blogging game, you’re expected to update your blog as frequently as possible.  If you can make at least one blog post for each day of the working week, great!  If you can blog even on weekends, even better!  Constant updating pushes search engines to index your site just as frequently, eventually bumping your site up to a higher spot in search engine rankings.

4.  You’re blogging only for the money:

Let’s face it: if you’re in it only for the money, you’re probably not going to make a lot.  This is because blogging is more than just coming up with a working marketing strategy or finding a topic that’s hot and popular.  Instead, it’s all about what YOU can offer to your readers.  Most bloggers end up writing about topics that are popular, not exactly those that they’re passionate about.  The important thing here is to find a niche that you love and avoid marketing shortcuts that don’t help you make money blogging in a sustainable way.

If any of these common traps are exactly the sort you’ve fallen into, it’s not too late!  Just make a few key adjustments and changes to your blogging strategy, cultivate some patience and tenacity with your blog, and the rewards will come to you in due time.

Top Blog Topics To Make Money With

Blog Action Day: Think about your environment.

If you think of it, today’s highest-earning blogs didn’t reach their coveted spot by accident.  Instead, they made the most of the resources and tools that were available to them.  And if you think that successful blogging is all about working on the right marketing strategy and coming up with good posts, then you’re missing out on one of the more basic things that make a blog work:  its niche or general topic.

If the general topic covered by a blog is so important, then which niche should you choose to make money blogging?  Below is a list of popular blog niches that have been dominating the blogosphere and pulling in all the traffic.  Which one are you most interested in?

1.   Technology

With more and more gadgets being produced and released today, consumers are only too eager to learn more about their favorite brands and find reviews about products that have yet to hit the market.  The rising popularity and diversity that distinguishes the world of computers and digital technology make this subject a most lucrative one, as Boingboing.net, TechCrunch.com, and Engadget.com have consistently proven to us.  If you’re a techie who can’t get enough of the latest digital creations and innovations, then this niche is easily for you.

2.  Politics

Blogs that provide political commentary have also made their mark on the blogosphere, with the likes of The Huffington Post making millions of dollars each year.  Sites like these provide information and insights on current world events, creating a venue for discussion between the blogger and his/her audience.  If political commentary is your cup of tea, why don’t you start your own political blog and give The Huffington Post some competition to reckon with?

3.  Entertainment

Call these blogs what you will – cheap, trashy, mean – but you can’t deny the fact that they’re a hit with the public.  Not only are they a hit; they’re also making much more money than other blogs are.  This is because blogs like Perez Hilton pander to a very basic, human desire to know what’s going on with other people’s lives, especially when these people happen to be rich and famous.  If Hollywood is your thing and you have a penchant for digging out other people’s dirty secrets, why don’t you give this niche a shot?

4.  Personal Blogs

If you think that your life is filled with too many juicy misadventures to be kept a secret, then why not start your own personal blog detailing your experiences for the public to gobble up?  That’s exactly what bloggers like Tucker Max did: they took their own lives, slapped it onto their blogs, and earned money for their efforts.

Ultimately, the best topic for your blog is one that you’re most interested in, since that means that you can sustain the daily task of updating and maintaining your site.  Riding on the popularity of a specific niche alone isn’t actually a guarantee that your blog will be successful  — what you really need is to mix that with a lot of hard work, quality blogging, and enough business smarts, and you’re on your way to a long-term, solid profit.

There are millions of WordPress blogs on the internet, but the majority of them are not optimized for the search engines. This article explains 5 ways that you can make your WordPress blog more search engine friendly.

1. Make sure that your permalinks are set up optimally for search engine optimization – whenever you publish a blog post it will have a permanent URL known as a “permalink”. By default, WordPress permalink setting is not optimal, but you can easily edit the settings on the WordPress Dashboard menu, click on this, and then use the custom settings.domain.com/category/postname. This will mean that your blog post category and title will appear in the URL rather than a number.

2. Install the All in One Search Engine Optimization SEO Pack (or a another similar plugin) – the All in One SEO services Pack plugin allows you to add a custom title, meta description and keyword tags for your home page and blog posts.

3. Use Social Bookmarking services to bookmark each blog post – whenever you post to your blog use a social bookmarking service e.g. Digg or StumbleUpon. There are also services such as OnlyWire and SocialMarker that will let you submit your site to multiple bookmarking services at the same time. Social bookmarking can give you additional traffic to your blog, and give you a back link to your blog posts.

4. Optimizing your blog home page – this is your blog home page to get more traffic then any other normal web page. You can increase the number of visitors, even more by optimizing your home page. Pick 1-2 keyword phrases for your home page using a keyword research tool such as the Google AdWords keyword tool and choose one or two phrases that are related to your niche. Ideally, these phrases should be a few thousand dollars, the monthly search and competition, and should not be too harsh. To ensure that you include in the title tag, meta description, and the entire contents of your blog home page a permanent reference to these keyword phrases.

5. Install Google XML Sitemaps plug-in – This will not increase your search engine rankings, but there is a site map will help to ensure that the search engine index of all posts and your blog page. You can use the Google XML Sitemaps plugin to create a sitemap for your blog map.

Articles Seem Boring, But Boring Works

Another Boring Sunset
Image by janusz l via Flickr

Any website owner who starts down the path of internet marketing will soon discover how many “guru’s” are out there all claiming some secret trick to boost your search engine rankings.  The reality is there are a few things to really pay attention to, but most of it really comes down to hard work.Depending on what keywords you are trying to rank with, you can get good results in as little as 1 week, or it may take months of hard work.

Asisde from basic webpage SEO stuff to make sure everything is done correctly, the biggest single factor still in your rankings is the number of links and where they come from.  The PR(page rank) of the site linking to you is important, as is the content on that site.  Recipricol links used to work really well (you link me, I link you) but now its really downplayed by Google as a valid method of links.

The easiest way to get links is through article marketing. This is not the path of the least work, it is the best path to get good, long term results.  The setup is simple:

  1. Do some keyword research on your topic.Pick from two to four keywords you will focus on.  Make sure they get decent search volume but do not go after stuff that is too generic (meaning it will have unusually large seached volume) – those will be way too hard to rank on in a reasonable time.
  2. Plan on writing 10 – 12 articles of 300-400 words each, using 2 of the keywords with links to your site in each article, with no more than 3 links per article total.Use the kwyword itself as your link text, not http://.
  3. Publish 4 of the articles on a major article directory that has good ranking such as Ezine Articles or ArticlesBase.  These have human reviewers so it will take a bit of time to get your article published.  Luckily they do not expect it to be the first time its published, so while you are waiting there you can post it elsewhere.
  4. Make sure you get some software that helps to spin the article content and links.Spinning an article allows you to auto substitute other words or phrases into the article each time it is published so you get a slightly unique version to a totally new verson depending on how much you spin it.  DO NOT try to use rewriting software – I have seen none that do a decent job – usually it reads like garbage and that will not help your rankings.  If you spin an article right, you can easilly get 10-20 different reading articles from a single article, enough to not worry about duplicate content out there (and possible penalties).
  5. The next step is to mass distribute your articles to sites looking for great content.  You can do this manually for free, or find some tools to purchase that can greatly speed this up.  I usually choose to pay some money in the savings of time.  There are so many things to do, you have to trade off somewhere.  You want to make sure you spread out the distribution – its unnatural for any site to go from no links to 500 links in 1 day – what is more natural is 0 to 10 to 18 to 25 to 40 … over many weeks build the level up.
  6. You should start tracking where you rank on the few keywords you have chosen.  After you have about 300 or so links you should start to get decent ranking.  Some keywords that are not as competitive, much less, and of course, some it might take thousands.  Your goal should be to get on the top 2 pages of Google for your search terms.
  7. In addition to the article work, you can also use social media accounts to link to each of the articles you publish AND also to your main web site. You will also want to make at least one squidoo lens about your site and then use it to link to your site.

Sites all want fresh content on them to improve their quality score.  Most look to articles about their niche topic to keep the viewer on the site and get better ranking.  This is exactly why article marketing works – you get links on disribution sites, webmasters get to search for content to add to their site from what is published.
