Blogging is essential to website success in many ways – but it takes time and effort to keep a blog running. For this reason blog owners may want to outsource their blogging and this represents an opportunity for you if you’re good in writing but haven’t yet decided on what to blog about. If you can help a blog owner meet his needs you are all set to make money as a ghost blogger.

Get involved in several different blogs. Check out the latest and the greatest blogs and take note of how the style comes across. Some blogs are written in an informative article style and others are written in a very relaxed and conversational tone. There are blogs that read a lot like this, a blend of information and conversation.

To make money online with a blog you might have to open your world up to a whole new way of writing. If you can write with enough style and offer your audience a really good read, then you will be able to find plenty of jobs.

If you can make money blogging then you can have a really good time while you’re at work. Many of the blog sites that are out there offer a wide variety of interests for you to explore. You’re not confined to writing for just one blog. In fact, you can develop a strong client base by being able to deliver timely information written in a real life style that encourages others to blog on the site as well.

Understanding the goals of the blog can help you do a much better job. Is it to increase the search engine rankings or is it designed to bring in more bloggers. Sometimes you’ll be asked to get a blog started by writing as different people. Sometimes you’ll be asked to write up specific information. It all depends on the website and the needs of the blog.

Blogging is fun, profitable, and informative. It’s a great way to learn all about different ideas and different topics. The more well versed you are in many different topics the more work you will find in your inbox.

Unless you have created an ebook before, you will find it difficult to understand how much work it actually does entail. Guide you may want to write, report or how, but unless you are an expert in your field, you will have to do research, which will require considerable time. On the other hand, you may want to write new fiction book, but to be worth the buy, most ebooks are at least one hundred pages long – with many being longer. E-book you may need to be completed several months of decline in the creation of e-book line.

In addition to the hard work of researching and preparing your ebook, you must have writing experience. It is a fact that customers do not, and will not, purchase poor quality work.

Linking From Your Article Syndication Content

IMG_2538
Image by Mishelle Lane via Flickr

In a recent article I wrote about the conflict we face in trying to resolve a contradiction in content marketing.  In a nutshell, the difficulty is that we frequently want to use links in our articles to our “money pages” for the purposes of search engine optimization, but the readers are not yet at the buying stage in terms of their mindset as they are busy gathering information (the reason they found our syndicated article)..  I pointed out that this is compounded by the marketing commandment that any effective page should satisfy the major goal of our website visitor–at that time.

My purpose was to bring the inherent conflict to the attention of article marketers.  With this article, I’ll try to bring some resolution to the dilemma.

There are actually at least two solutions to the dilemma.  One is to violate the rule of website design by letting our linked page offer two alternatives (both learning more and buying) for our readers who click through.  The other is to provide two kinds of links in our articles.  One link option or type leads to a landing page dedicated entirely to providing valuable information (and an opportunity to learn even more by signing up for our newsletter), while the other link category will direct the visitor to a product (or purchasing) page.  In these cases, our anchor text must make clear what to expect on the landing page.

I recommend the second of those two options.  Allow me to elaborate on why I endorse this approach and what the respective landing page for each type of link will contain.

Remember that our distributed article attracted the readers because those readers intended to gather useful information.  The only likely way we are going to attract those readers to our site is to offer them even more information than our article provides.  I trust that I don’t have to tell you that we always must deliver what we promise our prospects.  Thus, our article marketing content must be interesting, accurate and informative, but it must leave the impression that we still have more to tell them.  We must subtly persuade them that our site will provide all the remaining necessary information, and we make sure that link delivers them to a content page.

We also want to move them along that decision making continuum by implying that there is a product or service that will provide the ultimate solution to their current problem.  By making the implication that our product or service will be their ultimate solution, even after they have gathered all the necessary information, we have justified linking to our product or money page.

It is easiest to achieve the task of incorporating these two types of links within articles that we syndicate directly to other sites within our niche, because we can place those links contextually.  On the other hand, when we publish on article directories, we must make the connection between our informational link and our selling link more quickly as it must fit within our resource box and not within the article.

On of first type of linked page, we will move our prospects along the decision continuum.  We have already made progress by getting the readers to click the link in our syndicated article.  We can now treat them as serious prospects and ramp up our selling strategy a bit.  We shall offer them a link to the page where they can actually buy, but we focus primarily on getting them to take one more small step by asking for the contact information in exchange for the promise of even more valuable content.

We establish ourselves as experts in our distributed content, so we are “selling” that expertise to our readers.  On the linked page, we’re selling our credibility and integrity.  After they have signed onto our mailing list, we can actually begin selling our product by building our relationship with our new prospects and then more blatantly recommending our product or service.

The second type of link from our article marketing content leads directly to a product page.  The primary purpose of that link is increasing our SEO, so we must be especially careful to research and have anchor text that is a long tail keyword with commercial value.

As marketers, all of our efforts are toward increasing revenue through a sale.  As writers we must make the sale without disturbing the flow of our content.  So our first objective is to convince the article readers that they need more information, and that the necessary information can be found by clicking our link.  Second we sell the search engine spiders on the accuracy of our description of our selling page by making sure that the linking text and the page match in meaningful ways.

Venture Into Blogging For Profit

Friday Cat Blogging, Hurry!

As you surf the web on a daily basis, you will come across dozens of blogs, and these are only a tiny fraction of the ones that exist online. You probably read several and you might even have one of your own. If so, you might want to look into how you can make money blogging. With a little work, you can make a profit while having fun at the same time.

The most obvious technique for using a blog to get cash is to get paid directly for what you write. If you are skilled with words and open to freelance writing, there can be several options available. People are usually looking for bloggers to post on a certain subject as a method of marketing, and will pay a certain fee per day or week, or even for each new post.

Of course, if you are getting paid to write something, it is almost always essential for you to know what you’re talking about. Knowledge of a subject lets you write a variety of posts about it and do so in such a way that they will be interesting and worth reading. Sometimes you can research what you don’t know, but make sure the topic inspires you, or it won’t be worthwhile.

Almost always, the person hiring you will be doing so to make a profit of their own, and if they don’t make money, you won’t either. As such, you want to get as many people to them as possible. In addition to the writing skills you likely already possess, you will need to use search engine optimization, or SEO, and the right keywords to increase your audience.

You don’t have to be the best writer around to make money blogging. A popular and easily accessible option is to use advertising on your blog to get paid by an outside company. Google AdSense, Chitika, and others will send you a check at the end of each month in exchange for ad space on your blogs. Pay is based on the people who click through and the amount of advertising.

While you don’t necessarily need to know everything about SEO, you will still only be pleased with the results of the advertising you put on your blog if people actually read it. Study a bit on using keywords that will pull people in and write in a way that will be appealing to a mass audience. You don’t need to be a great writer, just be fun and interesting.

With advertising on your blog, you can make profit writing about whatever you want. But there are several problems that might come up as well. Having excessive advertising can make your intentions look bad and will annoy your readers. You also need to avoid scams. Check to be sure that others have used a service successfully before you sign up.

Whether you consider yourself to be a writer or not, you can make money blogging and have a good time doing it. The hits you get will make you feel good and the pay will do so even more. Take the time to know what you’re doing and to do it write, and you’ll be pleased with the results. Everyone can use some extra cash these days, so consider the possibility.

Why Should You Monetize Your Blog

Making Money by Photos8.com

I have been blogging and making money online for a few years now but for many they are only just looking to start blogging now and it’s now they should be looking at why they should monetize their blogs.

First blogging has become a global pastime and a lot of blogs are for keeping friends and family up to-date on event in their lives and those around them. Today however it is a great opportunity for many as monetizing their blogs, even just a little can help them deal with recession by bringing in another stream of income.

Individually my blogs don’t earn me a ton of money but how I over came that was to have multiple blogs about my hobbies and interests.

Your first step is to create a blog that is keyword focused on one particular niche. Note, the niche has to be a niche that has money in it or you may just find you are spinning your wheels.

Blogs started a online journals and it’s how I got started blogging. I was blogging about my hobbies and interests but not all from one blog. I broke my blogs into niches and just started sharing what I know and what I was learning that would interest my readers. The first blog I started was about fly fishing.

The Dilemma. Should I Monetize My Blog Or Not?

When I first started blogging I wasn’t even thinking about monetizing it. I had web sites dedicated to earning money and my blogs were just for sharing hobbies and interest, so you can see how it might seem a little conflicting to go from not even trying to earn to putting ads on my blogs. It can be a struggle making that decision, will people still read my blog?

For me it wasn’t until I actually quit my day job that I took monetizing my blogs seriously. And today it’s great because of the recession we are living in. It’s nice to have multiple streams of income.

Do Things Right And Readers Will Learn To Trust You

Monetizing your blog doesn’t mean you have to turn it into a billboard for ads. If you are building a following, your readers may resent you turning your good thing into a billboard. You need to understand that there are ways to make money from your blog without changing the basic feel of your blog. And as far as I am concerned that’s where I make a difference over so many others.

Keep it clean in appearance and your readers won’t mind at all, although there are always going to be complainers you just have to learn to live without them.

When your readers see something that is on track for the niche and something they need they won’t mind reaching for their plastic. See after you build a readship that learns to trust you they won’t mind seeing things and even paying for things from you because they trust you.

Making the Decision

Learn what you need to know about blogging and making money before you start and the decision is much easier and your results will most likely be much more productive.

If you plan on seeing a five-figure income you will have to work hard and stay committed. Most people are never going to reach that as they are looking for get rich methods of marketing and don’t stick to topics they know enough about.

You don’t have to quit your job but you will have to put in a lot of time which means you will have little time for other things. Just working and sleeping but eventually you will reach the point where you are earning more online than offline and thats the time you can start thinking about going full time blogger.

The Time For Monetizing Is At Hand

Monetizing your blog is not a sin or a hypocritical move. It makes perfect sense if you spend a lot of time blogging and have gained a following.

Sad face, Colonel.

I was using Bidvertiser as an alternative to Adsense but removed them more than a year ago because they just wouldn’t match up with my content like they said it would.

I even tried to manually select the ads I wanted and went through hundreds and hundreds of ads to turn them off. Instead of having them all active I think they should have had them all inactive until I turned them on.

Anyways I, like I said, I went through a lot of ads and when I was done I was only seeing ads that promoted Bidvertiser. The ads I was left with didn’t even show on my site.

I communicated with them for a while but they kept pointing the finger at me rather than help me figure out what was wrong. That doesn’t work too well with me and I just dropped them.

Well I got over it after about a year and decided to try again.

I added a web site to their system, a site that has nothing to do with gambling or mortgages but once I was setup and let them choose the ads they only put ads on my site that were casino and mortgage based.

I waited for a few days to see if they need to be on my site for a bit before they could match ads to my site.

Then I decided I would pick two other niches I work, again nothing to do with gambling or mortgages but all the sites had the same exact ads on them.

The two blogs are in the following niches: 1) gardening and 2) fly fishing, niether have anything to do with casinos or mortgages but all the ads were.

It’s like Bidvertiser has three or four ads but they are all about gambling and mortgages, the big money makers.

By The Way: My sites get more than 80% of their traffic from organic searches based around my keyword research.

Very annoying to have to put up with that so I guess I will be dropping them again. It’s time to look for another Adsense alternative that works a little like Adsense.

Blogs in Plain English

Of course, it involves more than producing interesting content for readers, but the process is quite easy enough to follow for the benefit of those who want to know how to make money blogging. Here are some of the strategies that you can apply on your blog/s:.

Make flagship blogs

This requires you to focus on several blogs for them to be able to achieve popularity in their niche. A large audience base and high visitor traffic are the must-haves of flagship blogs. To make this work, you must have fair knowledge in niche marketing and networking skills. Maintaining flagship blogs are very time-consuming, but you will be rewarded by more options in monetization as well as fame and personal satisfaction.

• Health and Fitness – Society is now more aware than ever about healthy living, and many people are looking for quick solutions to daily fitness and health problems. Quality content regarding tips and products can see people visiting your site, and daily updates will see them return each and everyday.

There has been a recent trend for Webmasters and blog writers to follow Google trends with their blog posts, and I must admit that I am among these Webmasters. Let me give you an example of how effective it can be. At 1:00 PM, it was announced on Google trends that Rachel Ray, the popular TV cook, had done a risque photo shoot for FHM. I was lucky enough to find out about this at 1:05 PM. I wrote a quick five-minute blog post about this topic, not thinking it would come to much. Boy was I wrong. I checked back on my websites stat counter later that day and found that 60,000 unique visitors had been sent to my blog by Google.

• Dog Training – Initially it may seem that pets and dog training is a niche market for a blog. But an increasing proportion of the population are now owning pets. These new owners are of course looking to find out all they can about the best way to care for and train their pets, informative and interesting articles again will draw people in, and the appropriate use of ads can see a lot of revenue being earned.

Google trends has allowed me to write about interesting celebrity news stories, knowing that they won’t be immediately overlooked and forgotten. There is now a chance for any Webmaster to get significant traffic, fast and free, from this innovative and ingenious Google tool.

Basically Search engine optimization or SEO is broken down into two key areas. 1) On page and 2) Off page optimization. On page optimization involves optimizing the pages of your website for relevant keyphrases, in order to improve their positions in the search engine results pages (SERPs).

Optimization is about keywords and phrases and the more unique your write your title and page content, focusing on just one or maybe two keyword phrases. Don’t use the same keywords for all your pages or the search engines may see you as spamming the search engines.

Add your targeted keyphrases to the navigation links within your website and the use the keywords as your anchor text for links. Don’t make the mistake and think it’s alright to use the phrae ‘click here’. It’s NOT a keyphrase and you won’t get the traffic you expect using useless phrase like that.

If you are offering affordable SEO services then you link should look like: Affordable SEO Services as it will work much better than ‘click here’ will. Once you know what keyphrase you will focus on stay on topic or you will dilute the effect in the search engines.

NOTE: One or two links per article or post is fine, any more may just look spammy and cause your visitors to ignore the page and move on elsewhere. Think about how you feel when you are on other people’s sites where they have too many links.

Give your images relevant names so they become part of your SEO efforts and use the ALT tag to include a brief snippet of text to describe the image. Keep your images keyworded.

Search Engine Optimization is a long and sometimes laborious task but if you get the groundwork right from the start then it’s easy to build on.
