I’ve had a lot of readers asking what PLR so I thought I would answer that questions with a short articles.

PLR Stands For Private Label Rights

Private label rights products are ebooks, articles and reports which are sold or given away, giving you rights to do as you will with them. You even have the right to call the content your own.

When it comes to content there are more than one type of product rights but PLR is usually the only rights that allow you to call the product your own or to allow you to modify the product. Having so much flexibility give people a huge opportunity to earn money with them.

Personally I use an article spinner to help me rewrite PLR content into unique articles I can use around the net. My spinner of choice is The Best Spinner. Then I publish those articles across my web sites and article directories with a couple or three affiliate links. My affiliate links are usually redirects from one of my web pages, it’s how I get around the no affiliate links on most article directories.

I also take related packages of articles and turn them into ebooks I can give away or sell to get more readers, subscribers and to increase my email list.

In my humble opinion Private Label Rights articles are worth gold to those that use it correctly.

Most anything but usually you are not given the rights to resell PLR packages without agreeing first to some type of affiliate program, which is only fair.

To get the best results from the PLR you get you should be sure you know what your keywords are and rewrite each and ever articles focusing on those keywords and a few secondary ones. It’s also important to rewrite the articles as close to 100% as you can.

When I find a good place to get PLR I join their subscriber list so I will be contacted any time new private label rights products become available. This is an important thing to do if you want to get PLR before too many others get it.

When I get notified I don’t waste time getting to the site so I can make the decision to buy the PLR product or to skip it. The thing here is to get there and get it before anyone else does. The key here is to get the content so you can start working it before anyone else and get it out there making you money.

I also have an account with Copyscape.com so that I can quickly and easily check the content for uniqueness. I believe I only pay 5 cents for each article I check for uniqueness. It’s actually a module that is in The Best Spinner so I don’t have to go far to check my content.

Being the first to purchase and work PLR gives me a definite edge as I can sometimes use the content as is, if Copyscape finds no duplicates. This allows me to publish content quickly on my own sites before anyone else and then I start modifying the content for other sites and article directories.

Perhaps duplicate content on your site won’t be enough to have your site taken out back and put down but it could be enough for you to get slapped.

If you’re not one of the first to publish a PLR article Google may just filter it out of their index so it will never see the light of day. It may just wind up in their supplemental index and again it will not be seen by human eyes.

The solution to this problem is rather a simple solution. Never to use duplicate content as is and always check it for uniqueness before publishing.

I personally used PLR content in my article marketing efforts for years and am still using private label rights content today. The first couple of years it was easy but as time marched forward it became important to rewrite the content and each year since it’s been needed even more, to the point where it needs to be 100% unique.

The reason, way too much duplicate content cluttering up search results and Google does not want to show you 10 duplicate articles showing up on page one of search results. Therefore they are putting their foot down and you will not see your content if it’s duplicated too much.

That’s when they will filter out duplicates and move them way down the listing or just put them in the supplemental index.

It’s Still Fine Using PLR, Just Be Certain It’s Unique

I still use PLR content but I pay very close attention to making it unique before publishing it anywhere. I use my own articles as well but the same principal applies. I don’t use it more than once without modifying to make it unique for another blog or article directory.

How I Purchase PLR

1. When I purchase PLR today I look for sites that limit the sales to only a few hundred people. It makes it easier to keep it unique.
2. I join notification lists for PLR so that I am notified immediately when a PLR package becomes available. The reason, so I can purchase it first, which means I can modify it less, as long as I purchase and publish immediately.

The longer I leave PLR I purchase without using it the more I have to modify it, so it makes good sense to be on the list so you can be first to purchase and publish.

I Personally Use The Best Spinner To Modify My PLR Content

Back in 2001 when I started my work from home business I wrote all my own articles. Then, as the number of sites increase, I started looking for PLR articles and used those, as is. Back then I had no problem ranking with them.

2. Abusing Article Re-Writing Tools

Like I said above, I use The Best Spinner to save me time rewriting articles but the option to create poor quality is right there in the auto replace synonyms button. All that work could go right down the flush if those synonyms are out of context, as they are so often.

To solve this problem just pick your synonyms manually.

3. Sign Up For A CopyScape Account So You Can Check For Duplicate Content

When I first started rewriting articles I would check snippets of text from articles and search for that text in search engines. Note, I would always put quotes around the text so I was looking for exact text.

I can’t begin to tell you how many ebooks I’ve purchased and read since I started my online business. It’s been a decade now and let me tell you that not all those ebooks were worth my time or money. It’s the main reason I stick with Clickbank when buying ebooks.

Over the years I have read many ebooks, in a number of niches, and can tell you that the quality can be great or very poor, but for sure they are not all equal quality. Even after saying he didn’t offer a refund he still left the text on his site. Idiot. Paypal just told him his account would be closed if he didn’t pay up.

Immediately after he submitted my refund he emailed me and told me never to purchase from him again. Again, Idiot.

Since joining Clickbank I have never, not once, ever had a problem getting a refund.
