Make Money Using Your Parked Domains

using your parked domainsI’m a work from home marketer and find myself buying domain names that are keyworded so that others don’t get them before I do.

The thing is I don’t use them right away. I am pretty busy and just park them until I find time, which means they can sit there for a long time making me no money.

I have even had to renew them at least once and still haven’t used them. What a waste of my money but I still do it and had way too many, well until I learned I can make money with my parked domains using Google Adsense for Domains.

I know a few other marketers and it sounds like we all do it. I wonder how much money is wasted each year on domain purchases for domains that never get used. If that’s you I’m talking keep reading because you’re going to be able to make money with those parked domains.

Once you are accepted into the Google Adsense program which really only takes one site that’s worthy of visitors, in Google’s eyes and you can be making money. But you can also take a few minutes and setup each domain you have parked waiting to be used and start earning Google Adsense income like my work from home business does today.

When the urge hits me now I go right ahead and purchase that domain knowing I can still make some extra income from Google Adsense until I’m ready to make use of it. No more dust collectors in my domain list.

Using Parked Domains To Earn Income

One more tip I can give other than having quality content is to leave the ads off your site until you’ve been accepted into the Google Adsense program. It’s too easy to have a spammy looking site.

I use GoDaddy.com for all my domain name purchases. They have domains that are very affordable so they are easy on the wallet plus their support staff has always been quick to solve any issues, although I haven’t had many in the years I have been with GoDaddy.

All it takes to have your domain earning is to change the DNS so that your domain is now pointing to the Google DNS values they give you when you are ready to set them up. Then changing the values allows Google to setup the domain to display Adsense and you earn money.

It can be a little scary the first time we try something new so I found a video that will help you get it right the first time. It takes about 2 minutes or less once you’ve done it the first time.

Wasn’t that a breeze and now you can setup any domains you’re not using and increase your bottom-line like I’ve done for my work from home business. Even if you only make enough to renew your domain next time around it’s worth it.

Our world today is going through some tough economic times and so many people are unemployed and looking for ways to make money, enough to even make ends meet.

Our son just went through months without work. Fortunately for him he was able to move back home with us. Unfortunately this isn’t an option a lot of unemployed people have.

I never experienced this when I was in the work force and only even was without a job by choice. So for me it’s tough to think about being in a position like that. But what I do for a living today, working from my home may be able to help you.

Part of what I do as a work from home marketer is to sell ebooks, digital books you can read from your computer, laptop or a device like a Kindle.

Ebooks Resell Rights And Affiliate Marketing

All that’s needed to get started is a place to work. Work from home businesses are starting up all over the globe because they work. The process needs to be learned so don’t just jump into affiliate marketing without learning first. It will only depress you more than being out of work does.

I know you are reading this article from a computer which is a requirement to make online marketing from home work. We have a laptop so that I can take it on the road with me as I blog about a number of my hobbies, which are all outdoor hobbies, like fishing and gardening.

With those two things, a computer and a place to work from home you are ready to begin learning about affiliate marketing and ebooks with resell rights.

Investing Time Learning Affiliate Marketing

Blogging for profit using ebook resell rights and affiliate marketing is what I do 5 days a week now. It did take a commitment and a little investment of my time and some money, not a lot of money though, so stick with me here.

The ebooks I promote are from the Clickbank marketplace which has thousands upon thousands of different ebooks covering pretty much every niche going.

I have purchased a lot of ebooks over the years as I have found I usually make a lot more money when I talk about ebooks I own because I can go from page to page learning what I need to say to make money with them.

I didn’t start making good money with affiliate marketing, which includes reselling ebooks, until I read the best affiliate marketing ebook on the planet by Rosalind Gardner. Her ebook is called the Super Affiliate Handbook and is worth it’s weight in gold but you won’t need to pay a small fortune though as I bought my copy for just $27.

Almost 100% of my sites are blogs as they are easy to maintain and search engines love them because they are updated so often. I have one for each of my hobbies so that I get very specific traffic, for free from the major search engines. It all starts with learning how first.

Work From Home Ebooks to Resell

It’s great to see others can work from home and make money doing it but not everyone has learned how to work from home and make a profit. I was one of these desperate people for a long time, way too long, but so glad I didn’t give up after my first failed attempt.

Part of how I make my money on the Internet today is through ebook resell rights also known as ‘other people’s products’ or ‘affiliate marketing’. The fact ebooks are such a great way to learn sure makes it easier to make money reselling them.

The key is to find a good work from home ebooks to resell. After many months of picking and choosing ebooks to resell I found I wasn’t do so well at it. The reason was because I couldn’t give enough detail about the ebook, simply because I didn’t buy the ebook.

When I looked back through my stats I quickly saw that I made a whole lot more income from the ebooks I have purchased and used. So to really make this work for you as it does for me I highly recommend purchasing the ebooks to resell.

When I first decided to buy ebooks I would promote I found a lot of them were pretty poor quality and asked for my money back. Well I didn’t get many returns. I actually got Paypal into it with one person who they threatened to shut down and he refunded me.

Those days were so stressful and I was angry, a lot. Since then of course I have learned about Clickbank Marketplace and life is less stressful.

Today I make most of my income with affiliate marketing and put a big focus on learning how to work from home with affiliate marketing. When I use the Clickbank Marketplace to find quality ebooks to resell I don’t worry about getting my money back because they have my back.

Learn Affiliate Marketing Ebook

I can’t take credit for knowing what I know about affiliate marketing and making money online because I was a big failure. I have to give credit where it’s due so one of my favourite ebooks to resell is Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook.

Rosalind, through her ebooks taught me how to make money on a regular basis, instead of just periodically as I was doing. When I tell people about affiliate marketing she’s the one I mention as the go to person for the best affiliate marketing tips.

Not every one has a product to sell online. I am one of those online marketers who has no products of their own. This doesn’t mean I don’t have products to promote and sell though.

I use affiliate products, which are products owned by others who are willing to let me sell their products for then for a percentage of the sale or a commission. This give so many of us the option to earn money with other people’s products.

Promote and Sell Other People’s Products

Using affiliate marketing to sell other people’s products you can be unstoppable in just about any niche you’re knowledgeable in. If you were to start promoting and selling a new product every day, say in the home gardening niche and you would never sell all the available affiliate products in just that one niche.

One of my favourite niches is the home gardening niche as it’s a great way to save money and if you choose to blog about it you have a way to make money blogging. Niches or markets like home gardening are so big they are broken into sub niches so there are plenty of affiliate programs, products and services so that you’ll never run out of things to talk about and promote.

Affiliate Products Which Are Digital

I get almost all my digital products, which are ebooks, software and graphics, from the Clickbank marketplace. I’ve found ebooks to be great because I can read them right from my laptop, iPad or Kindle.

You will find other affiliate programs for digital products other than just at Clickbank. You might want to look at PayDotCom.com and eJunkie.com too.

You need to learn all you can about affiliate marketing and Clickbank is the place to look. It was there that I found the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner and my online business life started making money. Rosalind Gardner is the go to person for all things affiliate marketing.

Non Digital Affiliate Products

Of course all products are not digital so I went looking for other affiliate networks that have physical products I can promote.

A few of the affiliate networks I have joined for my garden niche as well as my other niches:

Commission Junction, LinkShare Affiliate and ShareASale Network

Even though I have tried a lot of affiliate networks they are not all a like so I have dropped a lot of them. Those I listed above are a few I have been making money with and use them in multiple niches like gardening and acoustic guitar.

So what ever your niche is you are likely to be able to find an affiliate program. If you can’t find an affiliate program for your niche I would step back and rethink the niche you’ve chosen.

Learning how to make money with affiliate marketing is your key to affiliate marketing success and in my books there is no one better to learn from that Rosalind’s Super Affiliate Handbook so be sure to check her book out..

linkvehicleI have been marketing online and making my living from my work from home office since 2001 and love the freedom it offers.

Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s easy to do because I’ve found it to be hard work. The thing is I focus on things I love to blog about so it’s much easier to stay focused.

As my blogs started getting listed in the major search engines so I could be found I began getting requests for reciprocal links. Today I don’t bother with reciprocal linking unless our sites are very relevant. Search engines don’t see reciprocal linking as a sign of authority and they don’t make me much income for the most part.

Backlink Services

Once my blog was gaining attention in the major search engines I started looking for quality backlinking services I could make some income with. My searching efforts were paid off when I found LinkVehicle.com.

I read the main page and definitely saw potential for earning extra income and signed up right away. I was rewarded with text link ad requests extremely fast and in my first month I earned $12.00 that will be coming to me every month as long as I keep the text link active.

How cool is that but it didn’t stop there, it’s only just begun actually. Since then I have done three reviews I’ve been paid for. Reviews are one time payments but the ones I did were right up my alley and so easy to do.

At this time I am only two months into my membership and love seeing email requests for links or reviews in my inbox. I am now adding my other blogs to this great backlinking service so I will be back in a month to update this blog post, with more good news I hope.

5 Blog Writing Tips For Your Article Marketing

Writing

When I look for articles on article directories I can’t believe how poorly they are written today, mostly due to poor spinning actually. If they aren’t written or formatted for my readers I look elsewhere. Some of the things I look for in an article I will post on my blog are:

  1. Make paragraphs and sentences short. Try using just 2 maybe 3 sentences per paragraph. A paragraph that never ends is hard to read and many just leave the article completely. Keep it short, just write more paragraphs if need be.
  2. Use Bullets and Numbers. Immediately I can see points stand out in an article if bullets and numbers are used. This means I can scan an article for what I am looking for.
  3. Don’t talk over my head. No all people are as educated as you are so dumb it down a bit, just for me.
  4. Check Spelling And Grammar. An article looks very unprofessional when it’s full of typos and grammar errors. It also makes the blogger or author appear like they don’t really care if they can’t take the time to check spelling and grammar.
  5. Create a short yet catchy title.  I reject a lot of articles today because, for some reason, authors feel the need to use a paragraph for their title with no clear keyword focus. Take the time to come up with the perfect title as it’s vital.

There are many things you can do for your blog, to make it look great but when it comes right down to it it’s the words that count the most, in the end. I don’t care how great your site looks if the content is crap.

I use article networks to find content. It used to be pretty easy before article spinners became available because authors are either to busy to care what the results are or they haven’t learned how to use a spinner correctly. Anyways the results make it tough to find a quality article today.

Personally I use The Best Spinner for all my article spinning and end up with quality content because I know it works better than over spun crap, so it’s worth my time to create good articles. So please do a better job as I need lots of content and your site could get better ranking.

I have found a place where I get articles written for just a couple of bucks. I usually get good quality because I get to specify my expectations for my article. Plus I can reject articles and the author doesn’t get paid, so they tend to work a little harder to get accepted and paid.

I not only have articles written for my niches I also write a few articles as well. I like writing articles that match my hobbies and it makes a little extra money I use to pay for articles I want.

The site is called iWriter.com and is worth checking out.

jennyandjimTo Baby Boomers Everywhere: Retirement is closer that you think. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could still bring in money after retirement? Well you can and we do. Happy New Years.

We tried to stay up until midnight for New Years Eve but that didn’t happen so Merry Christmas instead. Smile

Retirement can sneak up on you pretty quick and one can easily find they are not prepared for what’s to come. The thing is retirement doesn’t mean you’re dead and the need for money doesn’t stop.

Where’s The Money For Retirement

It’s a bit embarrassing but for the sake of those reading this article I will admit I sucked at finances for many years. This has left us with no nest egg to enjoy retirement which means we either keep working, stay at home all the time or we could work from home as bloggers.

A Work At Home Job After Retirement

Retirement doesn’t have to mean the end of life as you know it. If you are willing to learn about work at home jobs you can do at any age. I started a work from home business that is based around my hobbies and make money doing it.

I don’t even have to be at home to run my work at home business. We love to travel so when we are on the road I share our travels though our travel blog. I even write off some of our travels and part of our home for our business.

It works out great as I like to talk about the things I enjoy, like my hobbies. My travel blog is just one of many blogs we have today. I like fly fishing, gardening, playing acoustic guitar and so many other things. There is always something new to talk about. I just do it with my laptop.

Blogging For Profit And Article Marketing

Blogging for profit works great because blogs are so accepted by search engines where we get all our traffic which our blogs convert into paying customers.

I will admit I struggle with this at the beginning due to lack of knowledge but just because we are retiring doesn’t mean we are brain dead, so I learned what I needed to know to make money blogging for profit.

Today I have over a dozen blogs, one for just about every hobby I have. My home gardening and fishing blogs make us the most income so far but the other blogs are gaining search engine traffic and growing as well.

The hardest part about blogging for profit, even after retirement, is picking the right niche to start blogging in. You want to pick a niche that you can talk about for a long time so you will be able to write blog posts regularly without getting writer’s block. I don’t have that problem, just ask Jenny.

Baby Boomer’s Can Still Learn, Right?

I am not only a baby boomer but I know many other baby boomers and have even taught a few how to work from home to make money online. So we know baby boomers don’t have to go brain dead after retirement and can even make money online.

I recommend Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook to get started with affiliate marketing. Her ebook will take you right from knowing diddly about Internet marketing and affiliate marketing all the way to making money with other people’s products.

Gorilla Scratching Head

Image via Wikipedia

I have been reciprocal linking since 2001 and see it as a way for you to scratch my back while I scratch your back.

It was a practice I continued until about 2010 and change to one way links only as most of the reciprocal links were not really relevant to my niche and felt it had a negative effect on my rankings.

I still get emails daily asking to swap links but I don’t get very many that are actually relevant to my niche so I usually decline and explain that I only do reciprocal linking today if both links are relevant.

What it really comes down to for me is that I don’t want my readers clicking a link that takes them to a page that has nothing to do with my niche or content. Make the link relevant and I see it completely different.

How To Have Reciprocal Linking Success

1. Link & Link Text Must Be Relevance. If my site is about home and garden I am not likely to want links from poker sites or even Nascar sites. My understanding of Google is that they look for relevancy in linking. So personally I go for what makes Google give me more authority and ranking and for me it’s relevant linking, even if it’s reciprocal.

2. Don’t Publish Broken Links. Check and then double check your links to be sure they actually work. I have seen this happen more times than I care to remember just because someone was in a rush. Google doesn’t give credit to those that almost get it right.

3. Never Spam Links. Google staff are not stupid and know the difference between relevant links and spam links. If it looks like spam it usually is and Google’s not going to give ranking or give you credit for spam links. Again Google prefers relevant linking.

4. Don’t Bother Starting Any Link Farms. Many bloggers today accept anything on their site and have topics that cover all things and end up creating a link farm that Google and other search engines aren’t going to like. They are not good for business really so I won’t link to them.

5. Give Your Links Value. I have found that I get a whole lot more positive attention from search engines when I include a reciprocal link in an article rather than just on my blogroll. It make it look more natural and if it’s on the right page it will also be relevant.

So even though I had stopped reciprocal linking for a couple of years I have started accepting them once again, but only when they are relevant to my niche.
