Mark Hansen's BANS template

I have written about BANS, the build a niche store script a few times because it’s a great way to make money online and just keeps gets better and better.

I like to follow what Mark Hansen has to say about BANS. As a matter of fact, just the other day Mark released a BANS template that allowed me to install a Wordpress blog and BANS site together on the same domain, making for a pretty cool site that gets indexed better that a separate blog and BANS sites.

I have had the instructions for combining a blog and bans script but I get a bit nervous about modifying scripts so I put it on the back shelf and never went back to it. Well a couple of times I did go back and look at the instruction but just starred at it for a while and then moved on to something else.

Mark has done a good job on this template allowing me to do the install quickly. The only problem I ran into during the setup was brought on by ME. I had to email Mark and ask him a question. He point out what the line of text was that I was reading and when I realized I was looking in the wrong folder I felt like a beginner all over again.

Sometimes you can read a line over and over and still read it wrong. I had a specific folder in my head and no matter how many times I read the line it still said the same folder in my head.

Other than mis-reading a line in the instructions the install was a breeze and now I have my first BANS site that is intergrated into my blog as well.

The template wasn’t free but it was very affordable considering that it would have taken me a very long time to create a template like this one.
