Where To Start: I have discovered I get my best results when I work niches I know a little about. However since starting affiliate marketing I have used the Clickbank Marketplace to learn about things in niches that are new to me and now I earn even more income online.

Step One To Affiliate Marketing Success

When I started thinking about a work from home job as an affiliate marketer I was advised to start writing down topics I know stuff about. I immediately went brain dead so I just carried a pen and paper around and wrote down things as they came to mind.

Start with your skills and then move onto your interests. Don’t hold back, just keep writing things down. You can evaluate your list later but for now just keep writing things down.

I really enjoy fishing but I have never been in tournaments. I don’t have a boat. Heck I don’t even own a canoe but I do have a float tube and fish when ever I can.

When I am fishing, even though I have very little in the way of fishing tackle or fancy gear but I know how to read water. I fish with guys that have it all, way too much actually yet I am able to kick their butts at fishing.

Do you think they listen when I share some of my thinking? You bet they do. Sadly before affiliate marketing I didn’t make a red cent sharing my knowledge but today those same guys go to my web sites where I share even more tips and tricks and they follow my affiliate links and I make more money.

Publish Unique Niche Articles

It’s great to write great content for your site and to get it indexed in the top search engines. You can get a lot of traffic and make some money but if you start to get links pointing to those pages you can get even more target traffic and make a whole lot more money.

Start by creating content, quality keyworded content, for your site. Then start writing unique articles that you will publish elsewhere with keyworded links pointing to your related articles on your site. Doing this will help to increase your web site rankings and authority which when done correctly brings in even more target traffic.

Keep that process of writing quality keyworded content and articles pointing to that content and you can rule the roost in your niche, just like I am doing today.

Then there is Guest Blogging which is an awesome way to get backlinks and again more traffic which you can make more money from using affiliate marketing.

The key to your success is going to start with you creating quality niche focused keyworded content.

Using Article Spinning For Better Ranking

I spent a lot of years writing content by hand and then rewriting those articles into many unique articles I could then publish to article directories without creating duplicate content. To accomplish this task I purchased a copy of The Best Spinner to help me rewrite articles.

Note: I belong to a variety of article networks where I get content for blogs I work where I don’t have much knowledge. The thing that you need to understand is I look for quality so I actually end up rejected as much as 95% of the articles I review because they are poorly written.

The reason their articles stink so bad is because they use article spinners without proof reading the results, therefore they publish crap and get rejected.

Another reason their articles get rejected is due to publishing them to the wrong categories or because of including non relevant links.

I spend a bit more time rewriting articles but I very seldom have articles rejected and I never include non relevant links on sites I don’t own.

Affiliate marketing works for me. My income increases every single year. Affiliate marketing will definitely work for you, you just need to take the right steps and focus on content that’s original and unique. Oh yeah and don’t be afraid to tell it in a story.

Welcome to my work from home business. Just got back from a great fishing trip with my buddy Jamie. A little smallmouth bass fishing helps to keep my young, it always helps when I kick his butt at fishing.

Article marketing has been the greatest way to earn money online for as long as I’ve been working online and I started back in 2001.

Article marketing is something you can work from home and make extra money with. I make my living article marketing. It’s something that can be done for free although doing it free can be very time consuming if you want to make good money at it.

All you need is time, a willingness to work and you can follow instructions.

My goal with this article is to teach you how I work from home and make my living on the Internet with article marketing. This way you can avoid the mistakes that have held me back over the years so you can go right to making money instead of mistakes.

Before we continue I need to add a little disclaimer because in my experience most marketers have trouble following a plan so they keep changing plans and making little to no money at all. So here is my disclaimer:

“I can not promise you will make any money.”

Key #1 – Learn To Follow Instructions

I’ve done it myself, too many times. Start following instructions and somewhere along the line I stop following the instructions thinking I have it under control, only to find later I didn’t. Sometimes I had moved so far off track it was just easier to start over.

So the first step to being able to work at home and make money online successfully, in any niche, is to learn how to follow instructions.

Following instructions doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes. But when you are following a plan and make a mistake it is much easier to back track to see where you went wrong. Winging it on the other hand leaves one confused trying to back track to find mistakes.

This is a huge part of why people try and try and then just give up. They just can’t seem to keep on track by following step by step instructions.

Key #2 – Finding Your Niche

Following instructions can be vital to online success or any success in life but for business it’s really important to find a niche or market you know or are willing to learn.

If you choose a niche such as the make money niche you may have problems. If you haven’t learned how to make money online how can you tell others how to make money. Choose a niche that you know about and you will find success much quicker, in most cases.

Personally I like writing articles that have to do with my hobbies and interests. I can write articles all day long without getting writer’s block. For this reason I have money making sites in gardening, fishing, playing guitar , puppy training.

I started with the make money market like so many others and failed miserably, at first. Once I started focusing on niches I had experience in and started making money I saw how to make money. That’s when I started making money in the make money niche.

Finding A Niche: When I am looking for new things to promote I go to places like Amazon.com where I can find the best sellers in any niche in just seconds.

For digital products, ebooks, graphics and software, I love the Clickbank Marketplace. I even have a plugin for Firefox that makes finding products I can make money with a whole lot easier.

Key #3 – Find Your Best Keywords

Once you have found your niche it’s important to find the best keywords for your articles and promotions but it’s also important to learn about the top ten sites for those keywords so you know what competition you’re up against and what they have done to get there.

Researching your competitors is the most time consuming task but is worth the time studying.

I have researched competition and found places they have fallen short which gives me the opportunity to pass them in the search engines.

You can use free keywords research tools for your research, which is exactly what I did until I earned enough money to get paid tools. I used Google’s Free Keyword Tool for a while. It does take a lot more time and does far less than Keyword Elite 2 which I use now but it helped me find my best keywords.

Keyword Elite 2 also shows me what the top ten sites are doing for each of the keywords you pick. Before KE2 I would go to Google, conduct a search for my first keyword or phrase. Then I would check each of the top ten sites to see how they are using that phrase. Very time consuming but worth it for the positive results you’ll get.

Key #4 – Backlinking To Build PageRank

Once you have your niche picked out and have researched your keywords and competition it’s time to start writing keyword focused articles with keyworded hyperlinks or backlinks to your main pages.

Backlinking is one of the most important things you can do for your work from home online business. Be prepared because it will take a lot of backlinking to kick butt in a lot of niches and requires focus and a lot of articles.

Each backlink is a vote for the page the link is pointing to but without a strong keyword focus it’s going to be a lot more work.

When you check out the top ten sites, which are the sites you need to pass in the search engines, you will need to see what kind of backlink numbers they have. It’s the backlinks that push up the pagerank and search positioning.

Not all backlinks are equal. The text you use for backlinks you have in the articles you publish can make or break you. If your page keyword or phrase is ‘home gardening tips’ then your backlink text should use similar keywords and phrases. Otherwise you are diluting the keyword focus.

One needs to know the keyword focus of the pages being linked to so that the hyperlinks can match that focus. This is where you either make it or not so don’t lose focus at this stage, not after putting in all that research time.

At the same time don’t use the same keywords as link text over and over, vary them so they look natural to the search engines.

Now writing enough articles for a successful backlinking campaign means a lot of time spent on article writing. For this I use The Best Spinner so that I can write one unique article and from that spin many more unique articles.

I went from writing one or two, maybe three articles in an hour to writing one article and spinning dozens in the same amount of time. The Best Spinner is likely one of my smarter purchases as it’s allowed me to increase the number of sites I have without hiring writers.

People have been using Adsense to make money online since it’s been available which has been about a decade now. But it’s not that easy, so most don’t make much at all, if anything.

There are even programs that will have complete websites, Adsense and all but then hundreds and hundreds of others purchase and use the same sites without modifying them.

This just creates hundreds of thousands of duplicate content which of Google hates so these sites don’t do well on their own. Those who work at sending traffic to their duplicate pages can make money though, it just takes a lot more work.

Think About The 100K Adsense Blueprint

Don’t even think about using ready made Adsense sites if the content isn’t unique or at least take the time to rewrite the content provided. My advice is to look at the 100K Adsense Blueprint.

It’s Not A Get Rich Quick Scheme

It’s much better to take the time to learn how to setup your own Adsense sites. It takes longer but you will end up with a better opportunity to make good money with the Adsense program.

No Need For Prior Experience

Other than being able to work from home to do your affiliate marketing you don’t actually have to have a whole lot of experience.

That’s one of the cool things when it comes to affiliate marketing. It’s not absolutely necessary to own a website. You can just use your affiliate link to direct others to the affiliate page.

I personally prefer having my own website as some places you will try promoting won’t let you use affiliate links. So I use a redirect from one of my websites to get around this issue. Works great as a matter of fact.

Getting Your Affiliate Marketing Payments

Sadly not everyone online is honest like you and me. I have been taken a few times, it hurts and is most discouraging. But I learn, even if it’s the hard way.

Today I don’t deal with people individually when I comes to affiliate marketing products I promote. If they are not from a reputable network I don’t bother with them. That’s why I use places like Amazon.com, Clickbank.com and CJ.com (Commission Junction).

In closing, it takes a bit of planning and you can work at home as an affiliate marketer and do quite well, with only a little bit of knowledge. You can learn as you go and you don’t need to invest a whole lot of money building website. Instead build your business.

So many people today are frustrated with finances and with good reason.

I started my first work from home online business mid 2001 as a web designer and watched my income soar to new heights.

It was so cool to work from home and make better money than I was at my day job as a computer instructor.

Back then web design really was a quick way to make lots of money, if you had a bit of HTML know-how, which I did.

So my first step was to purchase a new domain, one that was keyword focused for SEO purposes. I thought something like ebooks with resell rights would be great so I checked out GoDaddy.com to see if my desired keyword phrase was available as a DOTCOM domain.

It wasn’t but I was determined. I had heard about using hyphens in domains so I tried putting a hyphen between each word. It was available so I purchased it and moved on to the next step which was web hosting.

I’m not sure what the hosting company was called but I soon discovered it sucked and today I use HostGator.com to host the majority of my domains.

With HostGator I can host multiple domains on one account for one low monthly fee and my remaining web design clients actually pay for my hosting.

When promoting ebooks with resell rights you can do a couple of things.

1. You could purchase each product you are interested in promoting. It’s my preferred method because I get a much better understanding of the product, however…
2. If purchasing products aren’t in your budget yet then you could use search engines to find existing reviews, read each and every one of them to gain an understanding of the product and then write your own review based on the others with actually using their words.

The fact is when you purchase a product from the Clickbank Marketplace you have a guaranteed refund if you need it. I believe it’s 60 days now and this is great.

Why is it so great to be able to get a refund? Well you can purchase the product and learn all about it so that you have first hand info about the product, right? But what attracts me to Clickbank is the fact I can get my money back if I find the product sucks.

I can then spend that money again on a different product, until I find the product that fits me.

I love the idea of being able to take private label rights articles and creating an ebook from them. Because these are PLR articles I don’t have to be concerned with copyright issues.

What Types of PLR Products Are Available?

Private Label Rights Articles – You will like find private label rights articles are the most common PLR content and is what is often used to create other products such as ebooks, reports as well as converting it into video or audio.

PLR, for me personally, is great. I can use The Best Spinner, my favourite article rewriting software, and rewrite it into multiple unique articles. Once I make them into unique content again I can publish them on my own sites, article directories.

The handful of hobbies I now have are more than enough to keep myself publishing for many years.

Step 2. Working At The Necessary Research

I do not claim to be a professional since I am not necessarily one and you really don’t need to be either. I merely write about about the stuff I am aware of and start looking up the stuff I do not. Within my sales articles I use longtail keyword phrases.

The beauty of this sort of online marketing is that I discover fresh products continuously and have a lot more to post about. Which often evolves into more opportunities to earn money on the internet.

Whenever there’s new products in my markets I read about these products. It may well be simply because I bought them and use them or I basically study all I can from other people and then begin creating.

Owning numerous websites in a variety of niches I have got a constant source of fresh products to write about.

Step 3. Working With Longtail Keywords

When I am looking into any of the markets I promote to I do not immediately go for the top rated key phrases. Why? There is likely to be more competitors than I wish to compete with to obtain good ranking in google. For this reason I favor choosing extended key phrases for at least 4 words or longer, that still attract profitable site traffic.

The main difference between long tail keywords and regular keywords are additional words. So a 3 word keyword would become a long tail keyword if you add an extra word or two or even three.

Step 4. Your Info Product Should Start With A Good Outline

Know right from the beginning that it’s not all about how big your ebook is. Your content is what’s important. Most people would rather pay for a product that gets to the point without a lot of filler to make it seem better than it is.

People are starving for information but they don’t want it full of pretty graphics, large text and filler. Get to the point and give them a what they want, even more so they will purchase from you again and again.

You can create ebooks or digital products in a number of formats but today most people want PDF files. I personally prefer PDFs as I have had issues with Windows and other ebook digital formats.

Finish out your product with some eye catching graphics, upload it to your site, and write a sales page, and you’re ready to sell!

Step 5. Produce An Eye Catching Ebook Cover

Once you have that first product created and promoted you learn the things that could be changed to make you even more money. At that time you have the exact step by step process to make all the information products you want. Now you have an unlimited income opportunity.
