Our world today is going through some tough economic times and so many people are unemployed and looking for ways to make money, enough to even make ends meet.

Our son just went through months without work. Fortunately for him he was able to move back home with us. Unfortunately this isn’t an option a lot of unemployed people have.

I never experienced this when I was in the work force and only even was without a job by choice. So for me it’s tough to think about being in a position like that. But what I do for a living today, working from my home may be able to help you.

Part of what I do as a work from home marketer is to sell ebooks, digital books you can read from your computer, laptop or a device like a Kindle.

Ebooks Resell Rights And Affiliate Marketing

All that’s needed to get started is a place to work. Work from home businesses are starting up all over the globe because they work. The process needs to be learned so don’t just jump into affiliate marketing without learning first. It will only depress you more than being out of work does.

I know you are reading this article from a computer which is a requirement to make online marketing from home work. We have a laptop so that I can take it on the road with me as I blog about a number of my hobbies, which are all outdoor hobbies, like fishing and gardening.

With those two things, a computer and a place to work from home you are ready to begin learning about affiliate marketing and ebooks with resell rights.

Investing Time Learning Affiliate Marketing

Blogging for profit using ebook resell rights and affiliate marketing is what I do 5 days a week now. It did take a commitment and a little investment of my time and some money, not a lot of money though, so stick with me here.

The ebooks I promote are from the Clickbank marketplace which has thousands upon thousands of different ebooks covering pretty much every niche going.

I have purchased a lot of ebooks over the years as I have found I usually make a lot more money when I talk about ebooks I own because I can go from page to page learning what I need to say to make money with them.

I didn’t start making good money with affiliate marketing, which includes reselling ebooks, until I read the best affiliate marketing ebook on the planet by Rosalind Gardner. Her ebook is called the Super Affiliate Handbook and is worth it’s weight in gold but you won’t need to pay a small fortune though as I bought my copy for just $27.

Almost 100% of my sites are blogs as they are easy to maintain and search engines love them because they are updated so often. I have one for each of my hobbies so that I get very specific traffic, for free from the major search engines. It all starts with learning how first.

Today, after many frustrating months I purchased and read Rosalind Gardner affiliate marketing ebook called The Super Affiliate Handbook. It has changed how I run my work from home business.

I couldn’t believe all the things that I was doing that just wasted my time because it didn’t lead to earning money. I made some sales but not because I knew what I was doing.

I’m not really sure how many times I’ve seen The Super Affiliate Handbook reviews and just ignored them figuring I was almost there on my own, but I wasn’t even close.

Know The Products You Promote

My first attempt at affiliate marketing online ended with a big disappointment. I didn’t have the money to buy products and evaluate them. I was broke and needed money fast. The resulting articles I wrote really had not detailed information about the product and as a result I made very few sales and those were weeks apart.

Move ahead a few years and I had learned a few things, most of which came from The Super Affiliate Handbook. Every so often I look back and remember the importance of “Investing The Time And Money To Learn To Earn” and wonder what I’d be earning today if I had those first couple of years back.

I like to promote ebooks because they are affordable and can sell really well. Add to that I usually get my ebooks from Clickbank and can always get a refund if the quality of the ebook I just purchase is less that acceptable. For me it’s a win-win situation.

So like The Super Affiliate Handbook I can go through it with a fine toothed comb and learn all the features and benefits. I can use the product, which I have, and then offer a great review of the product. So many more sales that way.

Share The Positive And Negative Things

When I read a product or service review and only see positive aspects I get suspicious. It looks to me that they want to see the product more than they want to give a complete review. It also makes me think that perhaps this product has problems that the reviewer would rather not mention.

Share the positive and what it’s done for you but also share those negative things so that your reader is fully informed. Personally I want to know both sides if I am going to give up my money.

Keyworded Content is King

I have believed content is king for many many years, long before the Internet was around. It’s just that in my mind the content has to contain quality information or it doesn’t fit my idea of KING.

I read a lot of articles but I also leave a lot of articles, sometimes before I get through the first paragraph. If an author can not take the time to write quality content and decides to use a spinner to create unreadable content, well I just leave.

NOTE: I personally use The Best Spinner to spin articles so I am not saying article spinning is wrong, not at all. I am saying that in my opinion it’s wrong to create content that’s spun to the point it’s unreadable and then hundreds and thousands of those crap articles are published all over the net.

The answer is simple. STOP and take the time to proofread each and every article you publish. Make sure it reads like you wrote it, not a piece of software. Don’t let your keywords be spun into something useless. Think of your visitor who is going to try and read your content.

Research Good Keywords

Keywords are the words that are key to making money in the niche you’ve chosen. There are keywords that would take you years to rank for so you might want to research your keywords to find out the keywords you can rank for now, while you build authority and ranking for those tougher keywords.

Keyword research can be quite time consuming but is so vital to anyone’s success in affiliate marketing. Especially if your goal is get free or organic search engine traffic to make money.

Learn Who Your Competition Is

Many think they have millions of competitors but in reality you are really only going after those at the top of the search results pages of Google. At least the top ten positions and maybe even the top twenty spots. Learn what they are doing and duplicate it.

For learning my keywords and competition I use Google’s Free Keyword Tool as well as Keyword Elite which will show me what the competition is doing to get their position in the top three search engines, Google, Yahoo and Bing, although I am all about Google traffic.

You don’t even really need a website, although I personally prefer having websites to pre-sell my visitors and turn them into buyers quicker.

If you happen to be a newbie to affiliate marketing don’t get stress as there are plenty of affiliate programs available where you can get good training and plans to follow.

There is no shortage of different opportunities in just about any niche you’re interested in. I like to work in niches I have hobbies in, it works for me, but the possibilities truly are unlimited.

If you have your own products you can really accelerate you bottom-line by having others sell for you, like having your own affiliate network.

I don’t have my own products and can’t be bothered creating any as I do just fine promoting products and services that belong to other vendors.

The Clickbank Affiliate Program

I promote a lot of products and services using a variety of affiliate networks but by far I make most of my money through the Clickbank marketplace. So many people need to learn how to make money and what better place to go than Clickbank to find products they need.

Oh yeah, I also earn between 50 and 75 percent on each and every sale I make.

I started my work from home online business back in 2001 and started promoting Clickbank products right away. They are one of the biggest and oldest affiliate networks online today.

What’s cool about Clickbank is they sells only digital products so you have no need to stock inventory, so you really have no over-head and no waiting for delivery and that’s always a bonus.

Clickbank is an affiliate network in that it is a whole bunch of vendors and affiliates all working under the umbrella organization called Clickbank. Through Clickbank, products and services are bought and sold, accounting goes on within the network and commissions are calculated per product sold.

It was so cool to work from home and make better money than I was at my day job as a computer instructor.

Back then web design really was a quick way to make lots of money, if you had a bit of HTML know-how, which I did.

Web design started our great but after 3 years I had taken on way too many clients and found I no longer had any time for family and friends. Then in February 2004, Friday 13th actually, I had my first heart attack, mostly stress related.

Something had to change if I was going to survive this one.

Well a week in hospital lying flat on my back, hooked up to monitors with wires stuck all over my body, gave me lots of time to think about my future, if I even had one.

Before I went back home I made the decision to give up most of my web design clients and start looking for another way to make money online. A way that I could spend less time working with less stress as well.

I had already heard about the Clickbank Marketplace but was too busy to bother with it. Not now though so I took at look at it and quickly saw that it was a definite opportunity. I could even make commissions of 50 to 75 percent.

Promoting Clickbank products looked like something I would be able to handle in my current state of health so I started the process which began with getting a new domain to promote and sell ebooks from.

Step 1. Purchased A Keyword Rich Domain

So my first step was to purchase a new domain, one that was keyword focused for SEO purposes. I thought something like ebooks with resell rights would be great so I checked out GoDaddy.com to see if my desired keyword phrase was available as a DOTCOM domain.

It wasn’t but I was determined. I had heard about using hyphens in domains so I tried putting a hyphen between each word. It was available so I purchased it and moved on to the next step which was web hosting.

Step 2. Get HostGator’s Affordable Hosting

I’m not sure what the hosting company was called but I soon discovered it sucked and today I use HostGator.com to host the majority of my domains.

With HostGator I can host multiple domains on one account for one low monthly fee and my remaining web design clients actually pay for my hosting.

Step 3. Promote Ebooks With Resell Rights

Once I had my domain and it was setup on my hosting account I started focusing on Clickbank products to promote from my new site.

Clickbank Profits In Your Spare Time

When promoting ebooks with resell rights you can do a couple of things.

1. You could purchase each product you are interested in promoting. It’s my preferred method because I get a much better understanding of the product, however…
2. If purchasing products aren’t in your budget yet then you could use search engines to find existing reviews, read each and every one of them to gain an understanding of the product and then write your own review based on the others with actually using their words.

The fact is when you purchase a product from the Clickbank Marketplace you have a guaranteed refund if you need it. I believe it’s 60 days now and this is great.

Why is it so great to be able to get a refund? Well you can purchase the product and learn all about it so that you have first hand info about the product, right? But what attracts me to Clickbank is the fact I can get my money back if I find the product sucks.

The fact I can get a refund means I don’t waste my money. If the product sucks or just doesn’t meet my expectations I can request and get a refund, within the given time of course.

I can then spend that money again on a different product, until I find the product that fits me.

So I suggest you give the Clickbank Marketplace a visit. Sign up if you’re not already a member, it’s free, and start making money with product reviews.

Over the years I have read many ebooks, in a number of niches, and can tell you that the quality can be great or very poor, but for sure they are not all equal quality. Most of the ebooks were great but just enough were not that I quickly learned the horror of refund requests. I should add that I am not talking about Clickbank.

Some were so poorly written I couldn’t make it far into the ebook before giving up. Others authors just didn’t provide the info they claimed to have included. This leads me to my first reason for using Clickbank to purchase your ebooks.

Reason #1 For Being A Clickbank Affiliate
Faith That You Will Get Your Money Back From Clickbank

An example of how tough some can make it to get a refund and I’m not talking about Clickbank here.

I won’t mention this morons name but it seemed like he had a great ebook, according to the hype on his website. He also had it written right on his website that he guaranteed my money back if I wasn’t satisfied.

Not sure what this guy was thinking, perhaps he never dreamed anyone would not find his info useful. He definitely was taken back when I made a request and refused saying he didn’t offer refunds.

Even after saying he didn’t offer a refund he still left the text on his site. Idiot. Paypal just told him his account would be closed if he didn’t pay up.

Immediately after he submitted my refund he emailed me and told me never to purchase from him again. Again, Idiot.

Since joining Clickbank I have never, not once, ever had a problem getting a refund.

That’s a great reason to become a  Clickbank member.

Reason #2 For Being A Clickbank Affiliate
The Clickbank Marketplace Has Tens of Thousands of Products

Clickbank has hundreds and hundreds of ebooks throughout twenty-three product or service categories.

You can easily search and sort products in The Clickbank Marketplace.

I remember just a few years ago Clickbank wasn’t the great at sorting or searching however it was still better than other places. Today Clickbank has the search and sort bugs worked out and is much easier to find what you’re looking for.

You can search the marketplace using keywords. Once you’ve found a list of products using your keywords you can sort them, using the sort fields below, to find the best product to read or to resell if that’s your goal.

• Initial $/sale: Average Earned For Each Item Sold
• Avg Rebill Total: For recurring billing products.
• Avg %/sale: The average commission rate earned.
• Grav: Gravity represents a unique calculation by Clickbank which takes into account the volume of totally different associates that generated a percentage by promoting the product within the last 12 weeks.

Clickbank Has More Than Ebooks Alone

Making ebooks available to buy or sell isn’t all Clickbank offers. They also include software and graphics packages, some of which I have purchased and sold myself.

Reason #3 For Becoming A Clickbank Affiliate
Earning Commission For Selling Products On Clickbank

Not only is it easier to get a refund with Clickbank and easy to find the product you need right now but you can also sell Clickbank products, as an affiliate and earn great commissions on what you sell.

There are a ton of Clickbank affiliates who are able to work from home and make a great living, myself included. I have taken it from part time to a full time work from home job now and have kissed my day job goodbye.

It’s time to sign up as a Clickbank affiliate and start earning.

There are currently many different ebook formats from which to choose. As the ebook industry develops, the amount of formats will probably decrease, as some become standard and others fall away. We’ve already seen this happen to some extent with older e-readers being discontinued and their ebook formats disappearing with them.

These are the most common current ebook formats:

• PDF — .pdf
• EPUB — .epub
• Microsoft Reader — .lit
• Mobipocket — .prc
• eReader (Palm) — .pdb
• Kindle — .azw

There are other formats that can usually be read by e-reader devices, such as .txt and Word files, but I don’t really consider those to be actual ebooks. It’s nice that e-reader devices can display those types of files but they’re really just general text files that you use on your computer.

The best way to choose the format that’s best for you is to make your decision based on what kind of computer or e-reading device you’ll be using. Here is list to get you started:

• PDF — Windows, Mac, Nook, Sony Reader, Kobo, Cool-er, Cybook, BeBook, Pandigital Novel, iOS (Apple devices with Bluefire Reader)
• EPUB — Windows, Mac, Nook, Sony Reader, Kobo, Cool-er, Cybook, BeBook, Pandigital Novel, iOS (Apple devices with Bluefire Reader)
• Microsoft Reader — Windows, Windows Mobile
• Mobipocket — Windows, Windows Mobile, Palm OS, Blackberry, iRex iLiad, Nokia
• eReader (Palm) — Windows, Mac, Palm OS, Windows Mobile, iOS (Apple devices with Stanza)
• Kindle — Amazon Kindle

You should always check the tech specs for your particular device to verify the ebook formats that it can use. It also very important to check the software requirements for any ebook before you purchase it. Many people purchase ebooks that are not right for their e-reading device because they failed to check the requirements before placing the order.

You can find some useful ebook format comparison charts online. For example, eBookMall.com has a useful comparison chart that shows many devices, the best ebook format for each, and some tech specs like size and weight. Also, there is a huge chart on Wikipedia that shows a comparison of devices and their supported formats. Google phrases like “ebook device comparison chart” to find these.

I used to recommend that people consider whether they need to print the ebook when choosing a format, but so few ebooks are printable now that it’s almost becoming a non-issue. Your best choice for printable ebooks is PDF, but many (if not most) book publishers disable the printing function on their PDF files because they are concerned about copyright protection. In general, if you need a book on paper, it’s best to just buy the paperback.

The formats listed above are the most common that I’ve seen. If you have an e-reader that reads a different ebook format, refer to the documentation that came with it to make the best ebook format choice.

If you are thinking about earning additional income with affiliate marketing your first stop should be becoming a member of a free ClickBank account. Why?

ClickBank make getting into affiliate marketing super easy. In fact it’s so easy it can be summarized in three basic steps.

1. Subscribe to a free ClickBank account
2. Find a ClickBank product to promote
3. Promote your hoplink

Let’s go through those steps one at a time. You’ll quickly understand why a lot of affiliates choose to use ClickBank as the basis of their business.

1. Subscribe to a free ClickBank account

Complete the ClickBank sign-up and enter your details. When you’ve finished, watch for an email that will include an 8-digit confirmation code. You will need to enter this code into the Clickbank site to complete the sign-up process.

If you have a US address and earn over US$600 before the end from the financial year, then you will want to enter an Employer Identification Number (for businesses) or perhaps a Social Security Number (for individuals) in the Tax ID field. Since you can also add these records later you don’t need to be worried about that when you’re signing up.

Keep your activation email safe as it will also include your account nickname and password (the same as your confirmation code).

Now you need to sign in to ClickBank. Use the login details you received in the email and then browse towards the Marketplace.

2. Look for a ClickBank Product to Promote

In the ClickBank Marketplace you’ll find products organized into different categories. For those who have already chosen a niche, such as health products, then browse towards the Health & Fitness category. If you’re not sure you are able to just browse the different categories systematically to locate a product to advertise. Or use the search box and find out what pops up.

Stuff you should look for in a good product to promote include:

• A gravity of more than 30 (which indicates the product is currently selling well)
• Multiple products in the same category (to help you create a review page)
• A compelling landing page (i.e. one that does a great job of explaining why you may wish to buy this product)
• While not critical, it can help if you’re naturally interested or experienced with the niche. This will help you to write effective sales pages.
• When you’ve selected a product to promote, it’s time to get your hoplink.

3. Market your Hoplink

Firstly, just what hoplink? A hoplink is a normal hyperlink that links to the merchant’s product page and includes your affiliate code. Whenever anyone clicks on your hoplink, they’re taken to the product page and can choose to buy the product. When they purchase the commission will be credited for you. Information on the number of people clicked your hoplink and just how many bought the product can be viewed in your ClickBank account.

Some sites could keep information on this referral for anywhere up to Two months after the person first visits the merchant’s page, meaning that if they buy within that period (and haven’t clicked on another affiliate’s hoplink meanwhile) that sale is going to be credited to you.

To create a hoplink, pick a product from the Clickbank Marketplace and click on Create HopLink, located below the product listing. This will pop open a new window, where you’ll enter your ClickBank nickname, an optional Tracking ID, and click Create. The Tracking ID could be whatever you like and may be used to see where most of your clicks are originating from. For example, you may decide to create different hoplinks for your Facebook page and Twitter accounts, so you can see that is generating the most sales. The hoplink is automatically encrypted for your protection.

Make sure to make sure you copy the hoplink correctly which means you don’t miss out on any potential commission!
