It’s great to see others can work from home and make money doing it but not everyone has learned how to work from home and make a profit. I was one of these desperate people for a long time, way too long, but so glad I didn’t give up after my first failed attempt.

Part of how I make my money on the Internet today is through ebook resell rights also known as ‘other people’s products’ or ‘affiliate marketing’. The fact ebooks are such a great way to learn sure makes it easier to make money reselling them.

Today I feel so blessed that I am able to work at home making money online blogging, even though I am just a year away from 60 and only have a grade 9 education. This just shows me that just about anyone willing to learn can make money online.

I don’t know where you’re from but in my neck of the woods that’s pretty darn cool.

I won’t go into the long boring story about why I quit school and ran way from home but let me tell you that by the time the Internet became available I was so itching to quit my low paying day job.

I Thank God For The Internet, Every Day

With little education most of my jobs didn’t require much of my brain. This gave my brain the opportunity to do other things while I was working hard labour jobs.

I had a computer and then the Internet. So I began looking for ways to make some money online and maybe not have to work  so hard. Don’t get the idea I was lazy because I was always the harder worker.

The first thing I did when I got the Internet was to learn how to play guitar. During that time I also learned about web design and started building web sites for friends in my off hours.

In no time I was able to quit my day job and began to work from home as a web designer.

I went from working 8 hours days of hard labour to night day on my butt as a web designer. Yeah I had lots of money but was exhausted and had no time off for family.

Oh yeah, over the following two years I put on more than 60 pounds because I went from hard labour to sitting on my butt snacking and working. I had to find something else as my life was out of control.

Even though I was a web designer I had no clue about optimization or online marketing so I had to start studying and that led me to Clickbank.

The Clickbank Marketplace Rocks

I stopped taking on any new web design clients and focused on learning for a few months. It was so great that I was working from home as it gave me the time I needed to find a way to make money through the Internet.

I soon learned about Clickbank, well actually the Clickbank Marketplace. I was glued to it looking for ebooks that would teach me the skills I needed to have a successful website.

I started learning about Internet marketing, affiliate marketing and ebooks with resell rights.

Invest Your Time And Money

I have started blogs in niches outside my interest and it was hard work. As hard as I tried I would lose interest and let the sites slide. This may only be me but I have a hard time focusing for long periods of time on things that don’t hold my interest.

As a work from home online marketer I tend to invest the majority of my time article marketing. However it’s not the first thing I do.

Before all else I invest the required time researching my best niche related keywords to focus on in my articles, something that used to take a lot longer than it does today.

Keyword Elite 2 is the tool I use to research and find the best keywords for each of my niches. Using Keyword Elite has cut my keyword research to a fraction of the time it used to take me, just a couple of years ago.

Once I have my best keywords I start writing articles that focus on those keywords. I will most often use one main keyword phrase per article and then maybe one or two secondary keywords.

Not knowing the best keywords for their niche articles and how to use most efficiently is the reason so many Article marketers make no money. So you can see that it’s really worth the time and effort finding the best keywords that are most likely going to be long tail keywords, which aren’t necessarily the top keywords.

So really the key to successful article marketing success is knowing what your best keywords are, not just the top keywords.

Write Articles For Local Interest & Traffic

It took me a while to learn that I can make a lot of money from locals just by adding my location somewhere in the articles I create.

Example: When I first started my home gardening tips blog my article marketing focus was on North America really and I was getting about 200 unique visitors a day. I was making a few sales but nothing to write home about.

However, as soon as I began using my location in my articles my traffic grew 600% in just two months and my income tripled.

So in just two short months my traffic had jumped from 200 to 1200 unique visitors every single day. My Canadian traffic skyrocketed along with my sales leading me to make those same changes in my article marketing to other niches.

How To Get The Word Out

Once you have all your ducks in a row and have started creating keyword focused articles that are localized if they need to be you need to start thinking about where to publish them.

My goal in article marketing is to get my articles indexed as quickly as possible so I can start getting target traffic and make money. So it’s important to get your articles published on sites that get indexed frequently.

Before Publishing Make Your Articles Unique

Don’t get in the habit of using duplicate content as Google and other search engines much prefer content that’s unique. But how can you know your content isn’t duplicated without going through each sentence and checking it in Google?

I use CopyScape.com to check my content before I publish it. CopyScape checks it for me and tells me exactly what phrases are out there exactly as I have them. It costs me about a nickel for each article I check, very affordable.

How do you make your articles unique without rewriting them a dozen times?

Well today I use The Best Spinner for my article marketing. Before TBS I used to spend days rewriting articles to make them unique before publishing them.

I have looked a few different article spinners and found The Best Spinner to be the one for me.

I use TBS to swap words with relevant synonyms but can easily make an article unreadable so in my opinion it’s best to pick and choose your synonyms manually.

Where To Publish Your Unique Articles

I find it’s best to publish articles where I can get backlinks to my pages, one way backlinks actually. I also look for sites that have a PageRank of at least 3 which tells me Google thinks they have more authority than those with lessor PageRank.

Below is a short list of place I like to publish my articles to, starting with…

1. EzineArticles.com is my first choice when publishing articles because they are the strictest when it comes to accepting articles as well as the number one article directory. I get a lot more traffic from EzineArticles.com than any of the other article directories I use.

If you are publishing less than unique content it’s even more important to publish to EzineArticles.com first. They are the pickiest when it comes to unique content.

Once your article has been accepted you can start publishing elsewhere.

2. The Free Traffic System is next on my list. I use The Best Spinner to create unique articles and use the spin code to publish on the Free Traffic System where each article will be published to about 30 other blogs in the category you specify.

3. Guest Blogging is a truly awesome way to get traffic you may not be able to get any other way.

With guest blogging, assuming you’ve written compelling or instructional content, you can expect to get visitors through your one way link which can convert to money in your pocket.

Article Size In Article Marketing

I used to write articles of about 300 words in length. I aimed for approximately 3-7 percent keyword density and made my articles no less than 30% unique and that worked fine for a few years. Not so much any more.

Today I write articles that run about 500 words and no less than 60% unique to achieve the same results. I still aim for somewhere around 5% keyword density. Most of my articles are 100% unique based on the results I get from CopyScape.

I started my first work from home online business mid 2001 as a web designer and watched my income soar to new heights.

It was so cool to work from home and make better money than I was at my day job as a computer instructor.

Back then web design really was a quick way to make lots of money, if you had a bit of HTML know-how, which I did.

Web design started our great but after 3 years I had taken on way too many clients and found I no longer had any time for family and friends. Then in February 2004, Friday 13th actually, I had my first heart attack, mostly stress related.

Something had to change if I was going to survive this one.

Well a week in hospital lying flat on my back, hooked up to monitors with wires stuck all over my body, gave me lots of time to think about my future, if I even had one.

Before I went back home I made the decision to give up most of my web design clients and start looking for another way to make money online. A way that I could spend less time working with less stress as well.

Once I had my domain and it was setup on my hosting account I started focusing on Clickbank products to promote from my new site.

1. You could purchase each product you are interested in promoting. It’s my preferred method because I get a much better understanding of the product, however…
2. If purchasing products aren’t in your budget yet then you could use search engines to find existing reviews, read each and every one of them to gain an understanding of the product and then write your own review based on the others with actually using their words.

The fact is when you purchase a product from the Clickbank Marketplace you have a guaranteed refund if you need it. I believe it’s 60 days now and this is great.

Why is it so great to be able to get a refund? Well you can purchase the product and learn all about it so that you have first hand info about the product, right? But what attracts me to Clickbank is the fact I can get my money back if I find the product sucks.

I am a work at home marketer and have been for 10 years now. I started by offering products created by others which is called affiliate marketing and is a great way to make money on the Internet.

As an affiliate marketer I earn commissions selling other people’s products but I can make a whole lot more by creating my own ebooks or digital products and have other sell them for me. Just like I do today.

Think about this for a few minutes. You would be earning 100% of what you sell if the product is your own and you can offer great commissions to others to sell your product for you. I find this such a cool way to make money.

If you’re thinking this is a too tough to make money you have a lot of company but that doesn’t mean you’re right, not by a long shot. Not if you take it step by step.

Step 1. Decide On The Actual Niche Market

Any time I am going to write an information product I like to stay within the markets I’m most knowledgeable about and so for me  I develop info products about my hobbies and also career. So, personally this means I write about angling, fly fishing, home gardening, personal computers and software programs, New Brunswick travel, etc.

The handful of hobbies I now have are more than enough to keep myself publishing for many years.

Step 2. Working At The Necessary Research

I do not claim to be a professional since I am not necessarily one and you really don’t need to be either. I merely write about about the stuff I am aware of and start looking up the stuff I do not. Within my sales articles I use longtail keyword phrases.

The beauty of this sort of online marketing is that I discover fresh products continuously and have a lot more to post about. Which often evolves into more opportunities to earn money on the internet.

Whenever there’s new products in my markets I read about these products. It may well be simply because I bought them and use them or I basically study all I can from other people and then begin creating.

Owning numerous websites in a variety of niches I have got a constant source of fresh products to write about.

Step 3. Working With Longtail Keywords

When I am looking into any of the markets I promote to I do not immediately go for the top rated key phrases. Why? There is likely to be more competitors than I wish to compete with to obtain good ranking in google. For this reason I favor choosing extended key phrases for at least 4 words or longer, that still attract profitable site traffic.

The main difference between long tail keywords and regular keywords are additional words. So a 3 word keyword would become a long tail keyword if you add an extra word or two or even three.

Step 4. Your Info Product Should Start With A Good Outline

Know right from the beginning that it’s not all about how big your ebook is. Your content is what’s important. Most people would rather pay for a product that gets to the point without a lot of filler to make it seem better than it is.

People are starving for information but they don’t want it full of pretty graphics, large text and filler. Get to the point and give them a what they want, even more so they will purchase from you again and again.

You can create ebooks or digital products in a number of formats but today most people want PDF files. I personally prefer PDFs as I have had issues with Windows and other ebook digital formats.

Finish out your product with some eye catching graphics, upload it to your site, and write a sales page, and you’re ready to sell!

Step 5. Produce An Eye Catching Ebook Cover

Once you have that first product created and promoted you learn the things that could be changed to make you even more money. At that time you have the exact step by step process to make all the information products you want. Now you have an unlimited income opportunity.

I can’t begin to tell you how many ebooks I’ve purchased and read since I started my online business. It’s been a decade now and let me tell you that not all those ebooks were worth my time or money. It’s the main reason I stick with Clickbank when buying ebooks.

Over the years I have read many ebooks, in a number of niches, and can tell you that the quality can be great or very poor, but for sure they are not all equal quality. Not sure what this guy was thinking, perhaps he never dreamed anyone would not find his info useful. He definitely was taken back when I made a request and refused saying he didn’t offer refunds.

Even after saying he didn’t offer a refund he still left the text on his site. Idiot. Paypal just told him his account would be closed if he didn’t pay up.

Immediately after he submitted my refund he emailed me and told me never to purchase from him again. Again, Idiot.

Since joining Clickbank I have never, not once, ever had a problem getting a refund.

That’s a great reason to become a  Clickbank member.

• Avg Rebill Total: For recurring billing products.
• Avg %/sale: The average commission rate earned.
• Grav: Gravity represents a unique calculation by Clickbank which takes into account the volume of totally different associates that generated a percentage by promoting the product within the last 12 weeks.
