Where To Start: I have discovered I get my best results when I work niches I know a little about. However since starting affiliate marketing I have used the Clickbank Marketplace to learn about things in niches that are new to me and now I earn even more income online.

Step One To Affiliate Marketing Success

When I started thinking about a work from home job as an affiliate marketer I was advised to start writing down topics I know stuff about. I immediately went brain dead so I just carried a pen and paper around and wrote down things as they came to mind.

Start with your skills and then move onto your interests. Don’t hold back, just keep writing things down. You can evaluate your list later but for now just keep writing things down.

You Don’t Need To Be An Expert In Most Niches

If I had to be an expert in all the niches I make money in I would have given up long ago but all you have to do is learn how to marketing affiliate products to your readers.

Affiliate marketing, even if your not an expert, can help you make a living online. I know this is a fact because I do it on a daily basis, in niches that I am just not skilled in at all.

How I Make Money Affiliate Marketing

I really enjoy fishing but I have never been in tournaments. I don’t have a boat. Heck I don’t even own a canoe but I do have a float tube and fish when ever I can.

I discovered that I love gardening but I don’t own much more than a rake, a shovel and a desire to grow things and I make money online. Actually it’s my biggest money maker right now.

How do I make money in niches I am not an expert in? Well I love to tell stories, true stories about my experiences with things, like gardening, fishing and other interests. Guess what? People love reading stories that touch them in some way and I make money.

Let me share a short example:

When I am fishing, even though I have very little in the way of fishing tackle or fancy gear but I know how to read water. I fish with guys that have it all, way too much actually yet I am able to kick their butts at fishing.

Do you think they listen when I share some of my thinking? You bet they do. Sadly before affiliate marketing I didn’t make a red cent sharing my knowledge but today those same guys go to my web sites where I share even more tips and tricks and they follow my affiliate links and I make more money.

Publish Unique Niche Articles

It’s great to write great content for your site and to get it indexed in the top search engines. You can get a lot of traffic and make some money but if you start to get links pointing to those pages you can get even more target traffic and make a whole lot more money.

Start by creating content, quality keyworded content, for your site. Then start writing unique articles that you will publish elsewhere with keyworded links pointing to your related articles on your site. Doing this will help to increase your web site rankings and authority which when done correctly brings in even more target traffic.

Keep that process of writing quality keyworded content and articles pointing to that content and you can rule the roost in your niche, just like I am doing today.

Then there is Guest Blogging which is an awesome way to get backlinks and again more traffic which you can make more money from using affiliate marketing.

The key to your success is going to start with you creating quality niche focused keyworded content.

Using Article Spinning For Better Ranking

I spent a lot of years writing content by hand and then rewriting those articles into many unique articles I could then publish to article directories without creating duplicate content. To accomplish this task I purchased a copy of The Best Spinner to help me rewrite articles.

Note: I belong to a variety of article networks where I get content for blogs I work where I don’t have much knowledge. The thing that you need to understand is I look for quality so I actually end up rejected as much as 95% of the articles I review because they are poorly written.

The reason their articles stink so bad is because they use article spinners without proof reading the results, therefore they publish crap and get rejected.

Another reason their articles get rejected is due to publishing them to the wrong categories or because of including non relevant links.

I spend a bit more time rewriting articles but I very seldom have articles rejected and I never include non relevant links on sites I don’t own.

Affiliate marketing works for me. My income increases every single year. Affiliate marketing will definitely work for you, you just need to take the right steps and focus on content that’s original and unique. Oh yeah and don’t be afraid to tell it in a story.

In my 60 years I have learned a lot of skills people want to learn, in a lot of different areas, or as we call them today, niches. It’s great to use that knowledge to write blog posts but I also use my know-how to write ebooks and then give them away to get people’s email address.

You ebooks should include quality information to make it work. People will give you their email address for the ebook. They will even pass it around, if it’s good.

This gives you the opportunity to include links in your ebook that lead readers to your money pages and back to your blogs. This can deliver you a huge amount of traffic and help you make more income online.

The Money Is In The Email List

It’s true, the money is in the list if you learn how to make money with a list. The main key is to NEVER spam your list with non relevant content or too many emails a day.

I join lists to learn more about what I do or perhaps to learn things in a new niche, like my puppy training niche and how to play guitar niche.

The thing is I can get off the list in an instant if something sets me off, like non relevant info in the emails.

When I am creating lists I use either Aweber and GetResponse as they are trusted autoresponder services that make email marketing easy and safe.

I resell ebooks and work from home using Wordpress blogs to do it. The reason I use Wordpress blogs is because I can make them look like a static website or a blog and they are easy to use and install as well.

Every where you look online today you’ll find people who work from home to make money online in their spare time. You’ll notice that many use free blogging platforms.

Wordpress.com and/or Blogger.com are what you likely see the most. Personally I have had a couple of bad experiences using free services, even got shut down once because someone lied about my site and they never even checked it, just shut it down.

Purchasing Domains

I love using Wordpress But instead of using the free service I purchase my own domains, form GoDaddy.com, and use a hosting service to host them. I’d rather pay $10 per year and sleep better at night.

Hosting today is extremely affordable. One of the services I use hosts multiple domains and yet only costs me $7.00 month. Another is a reseller account and I still only pay $24.00 a month and host more than a dozen domains there. Very affordable.

At the moment I am using 3 hosting services so I have multiple IP addresses for my sites and all combined is still less than $50.00 a month. I am hosting more than 25 domains across them.

My Hosting Must Support cPanel

I am also a web designer and host domains for clients and don’t want or need them having any problems. I trust the hosting services I use but won’t use them if they didn’t have cPanel.

cPanel is the control panel for my domains and has everything I need to run my site but it also had Fantastico which allows me to automatically install Wordpress on my domains.

I can install WP manually without any difficulty but my clients can’t and don’t want to learn when they can do it automatically.

Using Wordpress Themes

I also know how to install Wordpress themes manually but I don’t want to if I don’t need to.

Wordpress using a default theme when you install it. However is you don’t like that one youi can just find and install another one. It’s really easy.

Once you have Wordpress installed you can then access the Admin area using your username and password. From there you would hit Appearance, then Themes.

When you’re in the theme window you will see a tab at the top saying Install Themes. Click that and start searching. There are hundreds and hundreds so you will be able to narrow things down with some option boxes.

Wordpress Plugins For More Functionality

Plugins or add-on for Wordpress make blogging easier. Widgets all you to place things on the page where you want them without a big headache coding. Just click and drag, how easy is that to increase functionality.

Some of the Wordpress plugins I use to get more traffic and earn more income are:

• All In One SEO pack – because it makes optimizing my blog pages easier.
• Ad Rotator – this cool plugin allows me to rotate through a list of ads.
• Google Sitemap – I use this plugin to be sure Google has a list of my pages.
• Zemanta – that allows me to add images to my posts. Most of the time I like to use my own images but there are times I just don’t have the right image.

Don’t get carried away with plugins as you will find hundreds and even thousands. Just use the ones that benefit your site. You don’t want to slow you system down with too many plugins.

To end this article I would like to emphasis just how easy it is for a non-techie to make money using Wordpress as their blogging platform.

So many people today are frustrated with finances and with good reason.

I don’t know about the rest of the world but here in North America we are feeling the pinch. I talk to people right here in New Brunswick Canada and it’s all the same.

No pay increases, even though the cost of living is constantly on the rise. Just look at our gas and oil prices, they seem to go up every week.

I started my first work from home online business mid 2001 as a web designer and watched my income soar to new heights.

It was so cool to work from home and make better money than I was at my day job as a computer instructor.

Back then web design really was a quick way to make lots of money, if you had a bit of HTML know-how, which I did.

Once I had my domain and it was setup on my hosting account I started focusing on Clickbank products to promote from my new site.

PLR Articles usually come in packs of 5, 10 or 25 and are usually themed so that you can do something creative with them, like make your own ebooks you can then sell on the Clickbank Marketplace.

The main difference between long tail keywords and regular keywords are additional words. So a 3 word keyword would become a long tail keyword if you add an extra word or two or even three.

Know right from the beginning that it’s not all about how big your ebook is. Your content is what’s important. Most people would rather pay for a product that gets to the point without a lot of filler to make it seem better than it is.

People are starving for information but they don’t want it full of pretty graphics, large text and filler. Get to the point and give them a what they want, even more so they will purchase from you again and again.

You can create ebooks or digital products in a number of formats but today most people want PDF files. I personally prefer PDFs as I have had issues with Windows and other ebook digital formats.

Finish out your product with some eye catching graphics, upload it to your site, and write a sales page, and you’re ready to sell!

Step 5. Produce An Eye Catching Ebook Cover

Once you have that first product created and promoted you learn the things that could be changed to make you even more money. At that time you have the exact step by step process to make all the information products you want. Now you have an unlimited income opportunity.
