Today we have so many ways to make money with a work from home computer and Internet access. I’ve said hundreds of times but the chance to work from my home and make money from the Internet is almost too good to be true, however it is a reality.

Before we continue I feel the need to point out that it’s vital to invest your time and learn how to work from home to make money before stumbling into online marketing. Personally I have found I do so much better in markets, well niches in markets that I have some know-how in. This way I won’t likely get writers block.

Know-how is great but I know a lot of things that still wouldn’t keep me interests year after year so I prefer to actually write about things I love to do like playing my guitar or going fishing with friends.

I Work At Affiliate Marketing

I use Amazon categories to find products but I also use them to find niches I know about but kind of forgot about. Yeah it happens when you hit my age, you some times forget things you like.

And when it comes to digital products Clickbank has 10s of thousands of them in the form of ebooks or electronic books, graphics and software products I can promote and make money through my sites.

Because I am not exactly a passionate writer I prefer matching affiliate marketing with my interests as I can write about stuff I really like a lot, without quickly hitting a wall called writer’s block.

Already Have A Business And Want Traffic

When the Internet became available in Moncton I already had a work from home business as a web design and computer instructor. I found the Internet a great way to get even more local traffic.

Don’t let what I do lead you to believe you need to be a web designer to make money online, not at all. You don’t even have to hire someone like me to build you a website because today blogging is huge and you don’t need web design skills do start.

I do suggest you have a domain for blogging purposes and a hosting account to host your domain. For these purposes I use two companies which I have been using happily for years now. They are:

2. HostGator.com all the way for my hosting requirements.

What I don’t like about article spinning or many spun articles is the lack of control the one spinning is taking while spinning. Many a quality article has been spun to death.

I don’t like to assume things but in this case I am going to assume you are interested in article spinning in order to gain those vital backlinks that can send your site over the top. That’s what I do day in and day out using The Best Spinner for the task.

Let’s look at a few article spinning tips that will help you get it right and make money.

Five Article Spinning Tips

1. Spun Articles Need To Be 50% or More Unique

For a long time 30% spun articles were acceptable but NOT today. Today you want as close to 100% uniquely spun articles if you want real power in those articles.

I don’t even accept articles today that aren’t spun more than 60%. But when I am spinning my own articles I spin them to 98% – 100% unique.

2. Keyword Density Should Never Become Spamming

When you are focusing on article spinning in order to attain more backlinks and to increase your page rank you want to pay close attention to the keyword density in your spun articles.

When I am writing articles for my sites I focus on a keyword density around 5% but when I am spinning articles to publish elsewhere with links pointing to my pages I like to keep the keywords density around 3% so that my own article has more punch.

3. Keyword Your Spun Article Titles

Here again I do things differently for the articles I have on my site compared to the spun articles I publish that point back to my sites.

When I create my article titles for articles that I publish on my own sites I use the keyword phrase at the beginning for SEO purposes and I keep my titles short. However on the articles I use for backlinking I put the keywords at the end of the title, again keeping it short.

4. Keyworded Anchor Text Is Vital Today

This is something that is so important to me in my article marketing efforts yet I see so many that just haven’t clued into the importance of keyworded backlinks. For you article to have more SEO power it needs to be relevant so why would anyone NOT use relevant text to form their link text.

Do keyword your anchor text but also vary that anchor text over multiple articles for the most natural linking.

5. Use Two Backlinks Per Spun Article

When I am article marketing which is at least 5 days a week to keep my readers happy I make it a point to link to an internal yet relevant page on my site. I also link to the main page of the site as part of my SEO efforts for ranking.

Without the click it’s kind of tough to make money so it’s important to keep your visitor reading all the way to the click. That has to be priority #1.

Tip #1 – Get Your Readers Attention

A vital step in article marketing is keeping the attention of your visitors. It’s not likely they will click your links if they don’t like the content.

How do you get and keep your readers attention? I most often use stories to keep the focus of my website visitors because it’s stories that keep me interested on other sites I frequent.

Testimonials are another great method for holding the attention of readers, especially if they are names they’ve heard before.

Tip #2 – It All Starts With A Catchy Title

A title can turn me away before I even click a link to visit a site. That’s because your page title appears in the search engines where you are competing for positioning. I tend to look at the listing and only click relevant titles.

Don’t get fancy with your titles either as you may dilute the keyword focus with too many words. Get right to the point so your potential visitor doesn’t have to de-cypher the meaning.

When I have to figure a title out while I am looking through search results pages I tend to just move on to the next listing. Competition is strong in most niches and easy to find more and perhaps better content.

Note: Those searching online for specific topics seem to like ‘TOP’ lists, top 3, top 5, top 7 or top 10 are all attention grabbers. Something like the title of this article: Top 5 Article Writing Tips.

Tip #3 – Find Hot Topics To Talk About

Hot topics get a lot of attention in just about any niche or market, so use them to your advantage, getting more traffic to your pages.

Remembrance Day was yesterday and is always a hot topic, especially as the original war vets are getting few and far between. In our area there is just one veteran still alive and he’s in the high 80s now.

Any holiday, festival, seasonal event such as Thanksgiving and Halloween. I am sure you get the point. Keep ahead of these topics so you have time to get that special traffic.

If you subscribe to a newspaper you will have all the info you need to be timely with hot topics. The more your site gets indexed the faster it is visited by search bots so you can get articles indexed really quickly. I have sites that get indexed in just minutes after writing a blog post.

Tip #4 – All Articles Need Spell & Grammar Checks

I am not sure about you but when I read an article that is full of typos and grammatically errors I get annoyed as today there really is no need to create poor quality articles.

Be sure you check each and every article for grammar and spelling errors, especially if you spin content with article spinners.

When I see articles that have not been checked properly it tells me the author is more interested in quantity of article over quality and I usually move on.

It only takes a couple of minutes to spell check an article so if you don’t bother why should other bother with your article.

I do so much better with the niches I am more skilled in and for that reason I tend to make more income from those websites.

I know this works because of the number of comments and visitors but also by how long they stay on the page. It took me a while to figure this out but today I write most of my articles and use personal experiences to keep my reader reading and eventually clicking my link.

Articles like that, from the heart, make me more money, bottom-line.

PLR Articles usually come in packs of 5, 10 or 25 and are usually themed so that you can do something creative with them, like make your own ebooks you can then sell on the Clickbank Marketplace.

You can also take the PLR articles you receive and turn them into PLR Reports for getting more target traffic to your webpages. These reports are usually sold and not only used as web page content.

The PLR audio is PLR content that’s converted into audio. I love having audio so that I can listen while walking around town taking pictures for my sites.

A picture can say a thousand words, so even though audio is great, PLR video can say so much more. I tend to be able to watch a video once and learn it but with audio I tend to get distracted so it often means I need to listen a couple more times.

How To Use PLR Content

PLR Stands For Private Label Rights

Private label rights products are ebooks, articles and reports which are sold or given away, giving you rights to do as you will with them. You even have the right to call the content your own.

When it comes to content there are more than one type of product rights but PLR is usually the only rights that allow you to call the product your own or to allow you to modify the product. Having so much flexibility give people a huge opportunity to earn money with them.

Personally I use an article spinner to help me rewrite PLR content into unique articles I can use around the net. My spinner of choice is The Best Spinner. Then I publish those articles across my web sites and article directories with a couple or three affiliate links. My affiliate links are usually redirects from one of my web pages, it’s how I get around the no affiliate links on most article directories.

I also take related packages of articles and turn them into ebooks I can give away or sell to get more readers, subscribers and to increase my email list.

In my humble opinion Private Label Rights articles are worth gold to those that use it correctly.

Most anything but usually you are not given the rights to resell PLR packages without agreeing first to some type of affiliate program, which is only fair.

To get the best results from the PLR you get you should be sure you know what your keywords are and rewrite each and ever articles focusing on those keywords and a few secondary ones. It’s also important to rewrite the articles as close to 100% as you can.

When I find a good place to get PLR I join their subscriber list so I will be contacted any time new private label rights products become available. This is an important thing to do if you want to get PLR before too many others get it.

When I get notified I don’t waste time getting to the site so I can make the decision to buy the PLR product or to skip it. The thing here is to get there and get it before anyone else does. The key here is to get the content so you can start working it before anyone else and get it out there making you money.

I also have an account with Copyscape.com so that I can quickly and easily check the content for uniqueness. I believe I only pay 5 cents for each article I check for uniqueness. It’s actually a module that is in The Best Spinner so I don’t have to go far to check my content.

Being the first to purchase and work PLR gives me a definite edge as I can sometimes use the content as is, if Copyscape finds no duplicates. This allows me to publish content quickly on my own sites before anyone else and then I start modifying the content for other sites and article directories.

Perhaps duplicate content on your site won’t be enough to have your site taken out back and put down but it could be enough for you to get slapped.

If you’re not one of the first to publish a PLR article Google may just filter it out of their index so it will never see the light of day. It may just wind up in their supplemental index and again it will not be seen by human eyes.

The solution to this problem is rather a simple solution. Never to use duplicate content as is and always check it for uniqueness before publishing.

I personally used PLR content in my article marketing efforts for years and am still using private label rights content today. The first couple of years it was easy but as time marched forward it became important to rewrite the content and each year since it’s been needed even more, to the point where it needs to be 100% unique.

The reason, way too much duplicate content cluttering up search results and Google does not want to show you 10 duplicate articles showing up on page one of search results. Therefore they are putting their foot down and you will not see your content if it’s duplicated too much.

That’s when they will filter out duplicates and move them way down the listing or just put them in the supplemental index.

It’s Still Fine Using PLR, Just Be Certain It’s Unique

I still use PLR content but I pay very close attention to making it unique before publishing it anywhere. I use my own articles as well but the same principal applies. I don’t use it more than once without modifying to make it unique for another blog or article directory.

How I Purchase PLR

1. When I purchase PLR today I look for sites that limit the sales to only a few hundred people. It makes it easier to keep it unique.
2. I join notification lists for PLR so that I am notified immediately when a PLR package becomes available. The reason, so I can purchase it first, which means I can modify it less, as long as I purchase and publish immediately.

The longer I leave PLR I purchase without using it the more I have to modify it, so it makes good sense to be on the list so you can be first to purchase and publish.

I Personally Use The Best Spinner To Modify My PLR Content

Back in 2001 when I started my work from home business I wrote all my own articles. Then, as the number of sites increase, I started looking for PLR articles and used those, as is. Back then I had no problem ranking with them.

As time moved forward and more people started online businesses it became a little tougher so I started modifying private label rights articles to about 30% or so and that worked fine, but today that’s jut not possible.

That’s when I bought my first article spinning software, The Best Spinner and I found I was able to do things in minutes that just a year ago took me hours and hours.

Article Marketing Using Article Spinners Can Produce Poor Quality Content

When I find an article online that I can’t read for one reason or another I usually just leave. There are tons more available. So if you are producing poor quality articles you are missing out on a great opportunity with article marketing. Why such poor quality today??

1. English Being A Second or Third Language

If you are writing English articles it doesn’t really matter how many languages you know how to speak. People are still going to leave your site if they can’t make sense of what you write.

Find someone with good English skills who will proof read your articles. I have two French friends that help me when I am writing an article that will be translated to French. Otherwise I would be publishing very poor quality articles. It’s worth taking the time to find someone to help you.

2. Abusing Article Re-Writing Tools

Like I said above, I use The Best Spinner to save me time rewriting articles but the option to create poor quality is right there in the auto replace synonyms button. All that work could go right down the flush if those synonyms are out of context, as they are so often.

To solve this problem just pick your synonyms manually.

3. Sign Up For A CopyScape Account So You Can Check For Duplicate Content

When I first started rewriting articles I would check snippets of text from articles and search for that text in search engines. Note, I would always put quotes around the text so I was looking for exact text.

I have been working from home since 2001 and using PLR content since about 2005. Since then I’ve been enjoying having the edge PLR content, aka private label rights articles, gives my web sites. PLR allowed me to go from just three web sites in 2005 to more than twenty by 2011.

It’s the PLR content which allows me to continue to increase the number of sites I have, without the private label rights content I would still be working just a few sites. I would have to work about 30 hours a day, 9 days a week to write all the content I require. Thank goodness for those people writing quality PLR content.

Time Is Money, It’s A Fact

Well we know we don’t have 30 hour days, or 9 day weeks. We all have 24 hours and 7 days to do what ever it is we do. So time is money and you need to learn how to make the best use of that time.

If you already have money you can pay others to do a lot of the things you need to do, however most looking to make money online for the first time are doing it because they are hurting for more money.

Until you reach the point where you can pay others to do your work PLR comes in very handy. So be sure you give it a try for yourself and see how much time you can save.

Two people I recommend are Jimmy D. Brown and Nicole Dean, both produce quality content, worth your time.

PLR content such as articles, reports and ebooks are created by someone else then made available to other marketers like you and me. Usually this content is quite affordable, which means a lot of people who don’t want to do any work buy it. However, most don’t know how to use it properly so if you learn how to do it right you have a huge advantage.

How People Handle The PLR They Buy

1. Let The PLR Age. First you have the people that buy it and never get around to using it. What a waste for them but it’s good for you and I.
2. Don’t Modify, Just Use It Now!! Next you have those that buy PLR articles and use them as is. This could be fine if you are the first to publish the content online, however leave it too long and you will find hundreds of the same exact article in search engines.
3. Gitter Done. Then you have people, like myself, and hopefully you, who purchase quality PLR content, then modify it to make it somewhat unique and then publish it with relevant links to money making pages or even affiliate links.

Not too long ago I would have stated there was no need to be afraid to work with PLR content without modifying it. Then in 2010 I said it was imperative you modify your PLR content by 30%, then 50%. It’s now 2011 and we say you should customize a lot more. Your odds of becoming successful with duplicate private label rights content is about nil.

Is There A Time I Can Utilize Private Label Rights As Is

Alright, although It’s my opinion you will be totally wasting your time using private label rights content as is there are times you just might be able to get away doing it. If you’re the first to purchase the private label rights and use them then there is no duplicate content yet.

Of course with tons of work from home marketers trying to find these articles you’re not gonna uncover unused PLR free of charge. You can however locate brand new PLR content on paid PLR content sites.

The key here’s to keep informed. Know whenever new PLR become accessible and be the first one to buy and use the content.

Two sites I joined, to get instant notice through e-mail, are EasyPLR and YummyPLR.

Tell Me What Happens For Utilizing Duplicate Content

Allow me to give you what Google is able to do when they find too many duplicate articles.

Think about it Google has been actively playing the search engine game for quite a while and they’re king of the hill. If you want to use unchanged private label rights you ought to be very afraid.
