How To Increase Traffic To Your Website

I get a lot of people contacting me these days to swap links but reciprocal linking just doesn’t work like it used to, so how does one increase traffic through linking then. Well personally I have more than one blog in each of my niches. This allows me to target traffic slightly differently but also I can offer one way links by doing three way linking.

But the there are other ways to get those one way links for yourself.

You Can Start Writing Keyworded Articles.

I write articles with a few things in mind but when I am publishing them other than on my own blogs I try to write them so that other bloggers will want them on their web sites. I then publish them on EzineArticles.com, as they get indexed quickly so I start getting traffic sooner than other article directories.

When I am writing articles to publish, about fishing or gardening, I focus on how to accomplish a task, which others want to learn and share with their readers.

Spend Some Time On Forums Helping Others

I don’t do this as much as I used to, forums can be quite addictive. But get onto some forums that are in your niche and start sharing and helping others.

Most forums allow a signature in your profile which appears after each post your write. A great way to get a one way backlink to your pages.

Don’t waste your time if you think you can go to a forum and just leave spammy posts and replies. You will just get banned and no one will ever come to your site.

Get Your Sites Listed In Directories

I get emails all the time from people asking me to list my site in their directory. It’s worth your time to find directories that have pagerank and get your sites listed in the appropriate category. You could get a lot of traffic this way and it can be quite targeted as well.

Comment On Blog Posts

Get out there into the market and find related blogs. Start commenting on then and linking to relevant pages on your own blogs.

Don’t be spammy and always try to be the first to leave a comment. Make the comment of value to the post and you will get traffic. You may even make a new friend if you continue to add value to other’s posts.

And finally do the social networking thing, just leave yourself enough time to create compelling content or your visitors may never return.

Working To Make My Facebook Page Better

imagesI have been going through a lot of pages in the last few days, learning more about Facebook. Why, well I started with Facebook a few years ago but all I got was family and friends having fun and leaving all kinds of unwanted content on my pages, so I just stopped using Facebook.

Thanks to a good friend online who explain a bit about Facebook I am going to give it another try, but with a new account that’s all business, well okay abit of fun, but it will have to be niche related fun.

As Robert pointed out Facebook isn’t just for friends and family anymore, it’s also an effective business tool when used properly.

There were a few things that I had only done half the job. Like my profile for example. I had only filled in a few details but really I needed to complete the entire process.

Note: All this doesn’t have to be done in a day and that’s where I was feeling the pressure so I just gave up.

Complete Your Profile, With Details

So be sure you fill in all the information in your profile. I know that when I look for new friends and go through Facebook accounts I tend to ignore ones that have no image and very little details. I just figure they’re not that into it.

It took me a few minutes but I managed to find the site that helped me the most today, with a list of 25 Tips on How To Use Your Facebook Business Account. Very helpful.

I’ve been using Twitter with internet marketing in mind for some time but never really cared that much for it, mostly because it was a pain in the butt to find the people I want to follow based on a keyword search. Things may have just changed though.

It’s cool how friends and associates help each other. A couple of days ago Robert Potter, owner of Products For Resale and a good friend now for about 6 years, sent me some info about social networking.

I started going through the info and links yesterday and was impressed but just this morning, bright and early, well it was still dark here, I was watching a video about Twitter and some tools that would help me make money with Twittrer. That’s been my main goal with Twitter but just didn’t know how to go about it.

I went through a video about Twitter and it was informative but the second video introduced me to TwitSeeker.com so of course I jumped over and gave it a try.

Maybe I still have a lot to learn about Twitter but so far trying to find relevant people to follow seems to be a lot of work as most that I find are not about the topic I searched, so there is a lot of manual work involved looking at each account separately.

TwitSeeker allows me to search user profiles for the keyword phrases I search and then it gives me the data back with lists of users that match the search criteria. That’s okay but the really cool part is how it shows me if I am following a user, if they are already following me, and of course those that I don’t follow and they don’t follow me. That makes it easier for me to narrow things down.

What is even more useful about TwitSeeker.com is that they show a tag cloud for each user, all I have to do is mouse over the icon and I can see if my keywords are dominant in their keywords, if not I just move on to the next one. But first I can click a checkbox to ignore them when I click the button to follow all the ones checked.

This is just a teaser post and like I said I have just watched the video and have signed up but I am still learning. Take a minute or two and get over to TwitSeeker.com and see for yourself how useful this tool is.
