Dropping A Few Categories To Stay on Topic.

Since I started to blog my goal has been to help people and share what I have learned but as nice as I am I still focus on making money online. Without that I would be back building web sites or working for someone else again. But it takes focus and that is one thing that keeps slipping away if I don’t pay attention.

Back in Sept. 2007 I wrote an article about staying on topic with your blog in order to have a better blog. Well it’s been over a year and I see that I have drifted off topic many times in that year. 2009 is the year of foucs for me so there are going to be some changes around here and on my other blogs as well.

I decided it was time to clean up a little, I am far from done but I am at least getting started. I have removed a few categories that should have been discussed elsewhere anyways and I still have a number to remove but it’s taking a bit of time to go through the posts to be sure I have them tagged correctly or removed.

I still want to share what’s on my mind but I felt it was better to just create a blog for that and keep this blog a little more focused.

I did a similar thing with my first fishing site because I was getting way off topic. Now I have 4 fishing sites, after breaking my first site into a few parts to stay more focused and guess what.

I started getting more traffic to the first site and was earning more, now I have all of them earning instead of just one that wasn’t earning much at all.
