Finding and Beginning a Profitable Niche
Image via Wikipedia Find a profitable niche
A niche market is composed of individuals and businesses that have similar interests and needs, which can be readily identified and that can be easily targeted and reached.
You first step, if you don’t want to be backtracking all the time, is to find your niche. Don’t make it your last step after building a site. You need to know who you are before you even get started
I suggest you start with something you are passionate and knowledgeable about as this will give you more of a chance and you should not run out of energy or things to say. I should point out that you need find a niche that people spend money on if you plan to make money online with that idea.
Take the time now to determine demand and need for what you’re offering, is it broad or is it targeted.
Keyword Research
There are many places you can go to do your keyword search to get ideas flowing. Start with a broad topic like “sports” and narrowing it down bit by bit until you find what fits you and you’ve turned it into something very specific and targeted.
Make your niche different. Think about what will make you the best of the best in your niche.
Take the time to offer bonuses and free ebooks to get people interested in your products and topics. This can be a great way to draw more attention to your web site.
Accent the positive characteristics of whatever your product or topic is.
- what makes it the best
- highlight that focus on it
- position yourself to be the best
Always take the time to check out your competition. You will also study other websites involved in your niche, are they broader or more narrow than you are thinking?
Do a bit of surveying, talk to people, are they interested in your product or idea, what do they think are the best points, get input from outside sources, neutral parties, and from people involved in similar businesses for a variety of opinions and thoughts.
I have found that sometimes it’s best to leave your family and friends out of this project if they are at all negative. That can sap your engergy and even causes some to quit.
