Image representing Google as depicted in Crunc...Image via CrunchBaseIn the course of a week I read a lot of blog posts. At the time of this writing I have subscribed to about 100 blogs on the topics I have web sites and blogs about.

One of the most common questions I see would have to be:

Google, where did my Pagerank go and can I please have it back?

I used to spend way too much stewing over my pagerank for my sites and I have learned there are lots of ways to generate traffic without bending to Google over pagerank. I have a good friend Robert that helped me to focus on more than my pagerank.

Losing one’s Pagerank can really take the wind out of your sales, don’t mind the pun, if Google is their only means of traffic.

Duplicate Content Penalty

Something as simple as duplicate content could cause Google to knock your PR down a peg or two. I am guilty of this one myself but I do try to modify PLR articles enough to pass the duplicate content penalty but I don’t do this 100% of the time and I pay for that.

Reciprocal Linking

I have just over 20 sites now and I notice that those sites that I use reciprocal linking sites like Link2Me and others don’t get the PR like my other sites where I focus on getting more one way links.

This blog you are reading lost it’s pagerank a few updates ago and I am thinking of dropping the links I have currently and started over with only one way links to see if my PR will increase again, as a test.

A lot of things can contribute to losing Pagerank, one which may be the cause of your drop in PageRank?
