I am sure you have seen this title a thousand times or more but I would still like to share the fact that you can learn how to make money online in just minutes.

I will explain what I did to start making money online and you have the choice to take it or leave it. You can even use the comments below to add your 2 cents worth if you think it will help my readers earn more.

I am not going to bother telling you what didn’t work for me in the first two years online as that would be a waste of your time and would only show you how thick I can be at times.

Instead I will point out what I have done over the past year that has made all the difference in my bottomline.

How I make money online:

First I created a blog about something I love to do and talk about all the time. Well I have had people tell me that doesn’t work. I disagree.

The first thing I learned about blogging about hobbies or interests is that these hobbies need to be hobbies that you yourself spend money on.

For me the previous step was key as I had already tried a blog and a web site on an interest that I never spend money on. I told you I could be thick sometimes.

Next you need traffic

There are so many sources of traffic online and of course a lot of them are somewhat useless so you need to get the right traffic for your sites.

My best traffic comes from the organic listing on search engines but I don’t stop with that traffic as there are so many other ways to get traffic.

Example: I create a blog about fly fishing and I write posts about my experiences but I also like to write about the equipment I use and the artificial flies I use. What did I do?

I went to TrafficSwarm and setup a little ad pointing to my artificial flies section on one of my fishing blogs, which points to eBay pages that I don’t even own but because I use BANS software on some of my sites eBay splits the revenue they earn from the seller.

TrafficSwarm works great for things like that but that’s only one source of traffic and it needs a lot of traffic to make it work. I don’t mind paying for the traffic as I always earn more than I invest doing this.

You can also use USFreeAds.com to place ads pointing to your products, again this is a free source of traffic but of course you can pay to get more exposure. You just have to try that and see if you earn more than you pay and if so keep on keeping on.

It took a while to build consistant traffic to the blog I am referring to but I was still making money before the organic search results started earning me more money.
