Article directories are really good in promoting your site or product. It also gives you good backlinks. The best ones for me are ezinearticles and goarticles.
I also use articles in my marketing.It´s a fantastic way of getting links back to your site.I think it´s important to submit a unique version of the same article to all the directories.I re-write the article slightly before submitting to prevent duplicate content.
