Reason Why You Just Might Want To Quit Your Day Job To Work From Home
Things are a bit competitive and my co-workers are passive-aggressive back stabbers with one goal in mind, claw your way to the top.
The commute is an hour each way. This gives me plenty of time to accumulate reasons I don’t want to work outside my home.
You keep thinking you have 20, 30 or 40 years of doing the same thing day in and day out before you retire, with little room for advancement.
It just sounds so much better than working outside the home.
Don’t Quit Your Day Job, YET!!
Before you dump that day job though you need to be prepared for what’s a head of you. The first thing you do is study some useful work at home tips.
Researching before brainstorming a plan will help you beat the odds as most new marketers don’t plan at all, instead they tend to jump in with both feet and closed eyes.
Once you have starting earn more than you earn at your current job you can start thinking about leaving.
USE An Existing Model For Success
There are thousands of ebooks available today that were created by very successful marketer, who by the way have done most of the leg work for those that followed. Study them and apply what they did for success.
It’s all about action steps. So many start and then wait for the money.
Imitate those successful marketer and you will find success. Skipping steps however may cost you dearly so be sure to stay on track and take action.
Having A Game Plan Planned In Advance
I started off my online marketing with a blindfold on and was doing it just so I wouldn’t have to ever go working for someone else ever again. My time would have been better spent researching.
What do you want from your business? Well don’t just tell me, write it done in point form for now but be sure you write it out in great detail. Your mind is a wonderful tool but it needs details to work things out.
Be very visual, include images in your goals. A picture is worth a thousand words and speaks volumes to the mind.
So, make the lists complete with ideal outcomes, and as well, include things, people, and events or incidents that should be anticipated…and have a back up plan.
I worked 7 days a week, pretty much all day and all night. My friends that started at the same time gave up shortly but I kept on digging myself in deeper and deeper.
I had no back up plan when I start, heck I didn’t even have a startup plan so I had a heart attack and basically started all over two years later.
Note: Now I work 5 days a week and I am done by noon each day. That way I have time to enjoy the money I earn online and the hobbies that earn me that income.
I Started In Debt And Broke.
From my years of experience at ways to fail my first suggestion is don’t start until you have some money to invest and don’t quit your day job until you have all your expenses cover, insurance included.
If it wasn’t for my wife I would have been sunk long before my health gave out.
I did quit my job way too early but with really good reasons. That of course if no excuse for not getting another job until I was ready. I paid dearly and so did my family.
If I had done things right I would have waited until I was earning enough to replace my income. I would say that would have been a minimum of a year building content, business relationships and friendships.
Start A Ritual But Don’t Dig Yourself Into A Rut
First I am an early riser. I am always up at the crack of dawn and I don’t even use an alarm clock. I don’t even have to have windows, my brain just wakes me up at dawn. Must be all the fly fishing I do.
I get up, put the coffee on, decafe for me please, take the one minute commute to my home office to start the computer, then visit the bathroom to freshen up so when my wife gets up it’s all hers. From the bathroom I go get my coffee and then off to get rid of any spam that my filters don’t catch. My day has officially started.
I don’t work in my PJs or in just my underwear. I like to be dressed and ready for action.
I Have To Have Rules To Work
Or maybe I should have said my family have to follow some rules so I can work. I get easily distracted and lose my train of…
Because I work from home my wife and son thought they could just come in my office at any time. Well I put up with it for months until one day I just snapped. Well okay I didn’t snap but I was firm.
No more visiting the office during working hours.
My wife was on board immediately and apologized for not thinking. My son on the other hand took a little longer but all is well.
Conclusion:
The past two years of working from home has been more awesome that I can express. BUT…
I started more than 6 years ago so I wasted the first 4 years.
Two years were gone while I was spinning in circles getting more and more frustrated. Then BAM!! my heart exploded.
The next two years were spent trying to recover from the damage I caused myself. Although in that time I did start learning how I screwed up so bad.
Perhaps it was so you won’t.
