Okay, don’t call me but please write two articles but make them slightly different yet use the same keyword phrases. Always write at least two articles on the same keywords.

Don’t Over Use Your Keyword Phrases

Note: Most newbies to writing articles for article marketing tend to over use their keyword phrases. This can cause more problems than it’s worth. The main problem being keyword stuffing penalties.

Example: If I write an article of about 300 – 500 words I will use my keyword phrase 3 times. Once in the title, of course, the first paragraph and then again close to the end of the article.

Funny Keyword Stuffing Memories

As I was sitting down to write this article I immediately started to laugh as a memory of one of my clients came to mind. A client that did more keyword stuffing than I had ever seen, before and since.

John is one of my web design clients but this was about 5 years ago, maybe a little longer.

John wanted to start a web site and gave me a call. He had heard of me through friends. Gotta love that word of mouth marketing.

John was very new to the internet, from the business point of view and didn’t know anything about having a web site other than he wanted a presence on the net.

I explained to him about using the keywords that his best customer would use to find what he was promoting.

Well when he sent back his first draft for his main page he had stuffed three keyword phrased into each and every sentence. Not just paragraphs, sentences.

I waited about a half hour, after I stopped giggling every time I looked at his content and then I called him and explained his error. Once he realized what I meant and what he had done he started laughing, which broke me right up.

Now his site is great and he gets lots of customers and business.

Glad I was there to guide him but not everyone has a guide that will help them out like I did. So just remember that you can easily over-do it with keyword use.

Why Write Articles in Pairs?

If you want to attract visitors to your site then you need to get the word out and I have found no better way than to write articles. One for my blog or web site and another for article directories.

First pick the keyword phrase you want to focus on for this article and then write the second article using the same or very similar keyword but they have to be different so they don’t get classified as duplicate content.

Put the first article on your site first, this is so you have something to link to from your second article which you will publish on EzineArticles.

I publish to EA as the first article directory because they seem to be the pickiest and will not publish duplicate content.

Once I get my article published on EA I will modify it slightly and start publishing to other article directories.

Note: I only publish to article directories with a PageRank (PR) of 4 or higher.

If I am going to spend my time writing articles to get attention I don’t want to bother with article directories that have little or no PR. Focus on the places that will get you the most action from Google.

If you’ve been in the Niche Marketing field for any length of time, then you’ve seen all the advertising landing pages telling you about some Internet Marketing software that will make you a million dollars in a week. Or some marketing b.s. like that.

In fact, Google has some free tools that are better than a lot of the software on the market today. If you don’t want to shell out big bucks for software, give these free tools from Google a try.

Google Trends is a service from Google I use all the time to spot hot trends. Google Trends is designed to track hot trends in web searches. Google Trends tracks all searches that are performed on Google and list the most popular.You can go back over time to see what people were searching for on a particular day as well. It doesn’t take a smart Marketer long to figure out how valuable this service is.

The second tool is one that is the most important one in my opinion if you want to make money online. It’s the Keyword Research Tool from Google. Any Niche Marketer worth his computer knows how important this tool is. The Google Keyword Tool will show you how many times in the previous months a keyword or keyword phrase has been searched for. After finding some hot trends with Google Trends, I use this tool to see how many searches there have been for the terms. This tool will also tell you how much per click advertisers are willing to spend. This tool is one that most people who make money with Adsense use.

The next free service you should look at is Google’s Webmasters Tool program. You’ll have to have a Google account in order to use this program. Whether you have a blog or traditional website, this tool will come in handy tracking your rankings. The Webmaster Tool will show you which keyword or keyword phrases you rank for and what percentage of traffic that each of the top 20 search terms for your website is getting. It also shows you how many backlinks your website has.

Google Analytics. Unlike Google’s Webmaster Tool, Analytics digs down deep to show you detailed information about your website. Although too long to list here, Analytics is a full scale analysing program that gives you important data about your website. Just some of the features of this tool include; telling you where your traffic is coming from, which keywords they’re using to get to your site, how long they stay on your site, which pages they visit, whether or not they are returning visitors and which keywords covert better than other ones. This is critical in tracking the effectiveness of your advertising and backlink campaigns.

This destroys the myth that you need high dollar software to make money on the Internet. With these free tools from Google, there is no need in spending a lot of money on other programs. You can take the money you save and outsource some of those boring chores of Internet Marketing that you hate to do, like writing articles!
