Whether you’re rich or poor, black or white, everybody has had problems spring up in their lives. Were you the earliest to get in to the office and the last one to leave, but still the first one to get fired? Perhaps you had such smelly feet that you’d only order your shoes online. Either way, you’ve had your own crosses to bear.

If you’ve successfully solved some unusual problems in your life, there’s probably a line of people waiting to hear precisely how you did it. You can turn your problem solving know-how into a business… an e-book business to be exact.

How do you do it? It’s quite easy…

1) Think about your own life. Write down a list of problems that you’ve been able to successfully overcome. For example did you manage to get a fantastic mortgage, despite having terrible credit? Were you able to get rid of those “man boobs” without springing for plastic surgery? Did you stumble upon a job hunting trick that helped you generate five great job offers in a matter of days? Those are all salable e-book topics.

2) Describe exactly how you overcame the problem. This is where you actually write the ebook. Describe the first thing you did to solve the problem. Were you inspired from something you read? What happened next? What tools did you have to gather? Was there something that you had to learn? How much time was needed? Just re-imagine the situation to explain how you fixed the problem. Details are important here. Intimate details showing that you’ve “been there and done that” make customers love you.

3) Make it pretty and PDF it. Once you’ve written out all of the steps, you’ll need to format it into a report. Use a program like Microsoft Word or Open Office (which is like Microsoft Word, except it’s free) to do that. And when the cosmetic work is done, turn it into a PDF. Both Microsoft Word and Open Office have PDF creation abilities. You’ll be selling the PDF as an e-book.

4) Create a website that sells your solution. You’ll need to write sales copy that tells potential readers how your e-book is going to fix their problem. But don’t fret… you don’t have to be a master copywriter to do this. The most important point to writing good copy in this situation, is that you’ve personally experienced the problem. You understand what prospects are going through. You’ve felt their anxiety before. Relate those feelings in your sales letter. Prospects pay more attention to honesty than perfect grammar and special sales tricks.

5) Promote your e-book. The best part about selling solutions is that people are always looking to solve their problems. As long as the problem exists, there will always be potential buyers. You can advertise the e-book on Google AdWords, write promotional articles, or even start a blog. You want to be wherever potential customers are going.

Inspired? Don’t just sit there… start writing an ebook and turn those previous problems into cash in your pocket.
