How Much To Create a Blog?

You don’t even have to pull out your wallet on this one. You can create a blog absolutely free if that’s the way you want to go. You don’t even need your own domain.

Two places come to mind immediately. Wordpress.com and Blogger.com, both sites will let you create your blog for free.

With all the people looking to make a little extra income these days you can well imagine how many people go for the free blogs.

I purchased domains for my money sites but when the free route for my blogs.

I was up to six blogs on Blogger.com when one day I was shut down because of a complaint.

BTW: I didn’t get an email telling me this, oh no, I had to try and log in and that’s when I found my account suspended.

I had to contact them and ask them what the hell was going on. They never did tell me but asked if I would like someone to check the site. Well DUH!!

They found the claims, what ever they were, to be false and turned my account back on. That little adventure had my account shut down for almost a full week.

Once I was able to get into my account I never used it again. That was a lesson about going the free route that actually cost me money and I didn’t much care for it.

So, no more free blogs for me. Now I purchase all my domains and host my own blogs and have never been shut down since.

Go the free route at your own peril.

Create A Blog On Your Own Domain

I was a web site designer long before I started blogging for profit and used Godaddy.com.

I have had zero complaints with GoDaddy.com so it was just natural that I use GoDaddy for my blogging domains as well.

I tried a few places for hosting in the past. They were fine but at the time they only allowed me to have one domain per account. I eventually came across HostGator and have been using them for a few years now without complaint.

Life has enough stresses who needs more.

I have had a couple of things over the years that I didn’t understand of just plain screwed up on but when I needed support they were there and my issue was resolved quickly. Without stress, just the way my doctor likes it.

About Comment Spammers

Most of the time it's pretty simple to pick out comment spammers as they are self centered morons looking for quick backlinks.

Three wasys to spot spammers:

1. They don't use their name in the name field but rather a keyword phrase, most times it's not even related to my post.
2. Quite often they leave long comments that really say absolutely nothing about the article content.
3. They usually leave a non-relevant link.

They are easy to spot and get delelted immediately.

I’m with you all the way on this. Unfortunately a lot of people still don’t understand this. Maybe they haven’t heard about it or they just don’t care.

Today you can use exactly the same software as on Wordpress.com with the same simple installation. $5 a month is not expensive when you gain full control over your site.

I think we forget about when we started. I know I didn’t understand much, although I thought it was really easy. Well until I found out it was so easy.

I guess most of us go through stages of learning. I just love learning new things. The trouble I have is remembering what I learn and applying it before I get side tracked onto a new project.
